Coop missions ready button disabled

Ready button is disabled with a tooltip “Not available while game is initializing”. Was able to play a mutation though. Went back to the regular coop missions and I could see a listing of the maps that was ~100 entries with multiple duplicates and blank entries. None of the 20 or so maps I clicked on would light up the ready button.

Screen shot of maps available if needed.

From understanding, the only time few times the ‘ready’ button was disabled for me were:

  • When I first startup SC2 (for about 5-15 secs).
  • After I have just ended / left a game (for about 3-7 secs).
    • There is a workaround by closing the score summary menu (don’t use the ready button there) and using the regular ‘ready’ button instead.

Do check if you can queue for a regular ladder game / enter a custom game.

If you can provide as many screenshots as possible it will be great. Like the one with your ‘ready’ button disabled for Co-op but available for Mutation, as well as the match history (or the listing of maps).

You will need to use the ` symbol at the start and end of the URL in order to post here.

It should appear to be something like this if done correctly.

Thanks @Kyrie!

Yes – both ladder and custom melee work.

That is interesting. Usually all these game modes are ‘linked’ together such that if one is disabled, the rest are as well. Unfortunately, short of a drastic measure like nuking the game and reinstalling it, I don’t think I quite know what other possibilities there are.

Will be best to wait for someone more experienced in this to reply then. Sorry I couldn’t help.

Yah, I tried a delete and reinstall and 22GB later no luck.

It’s strange that if I go to the Mutation and come back to Mission I can see so many maps and repeats of maps. So it clearly can talk to the server, but the data it is getting back doesn’t jive with the client.

EDIT:

Found my solution! Need to delete the corrupted cache folder:

For MacOS:

rm -rf /Users/Shared/Blizzard # may need to put sudo in front

I had permissions issues which probably explained the strange behaviour.
