However when you got the game for free it’s not that much to support it by giving a single 5$ for a commander you like. Normally you would pay around 20$ for one expansion (I’m not sure about the US prices for the game because I’m eastern european).
I was originally quite prepared to buy the actual campaigns until I found out they did the greedy d**k-move of removing commanders from what you get.
I was also open to buying some commanders if they were on sale.
I am not going to pay $5 for “one commander I like”, because I am one of those “gets all the DLC” persons, so paying $5 for one would imply paying $60 or 80 (or whatever) for all, plus buying the campaigns on top of that.
Not gonna happen.
In fact I don’t even know which premium commanders I “like”, since I refuse to play any of them because I don’t want to get attached to something I have no intent of buying.
Meanwhile, co-op itself is in need of more variation and content overall so that is yet another reason to not be super excited about buying commanders. I realize co-op is only a single, relatively unloved facet of SC2 but it’s the one that appeals most to me. (I don’t like the PvP. I’m bad at it, I don’t care at all for the gameplay style that one must achieve to be good at it, and I’m not that invested in SC2 overall to even attempt to be good at it, anyway. So it’s basically campaigns, co-op, and custom games for me.)
And as I ponder this now, I realize blizz greed has actually backfired to the additional extent that I have uninstalled the game and don’t even want to buy the campaigns! GJ!
As a final cynical point, you use the word “support”, and I have to say: blizz doesn’t need our/my f’ing “support”. They have more money than they know what to do with, and they use it for evil. The game I cared most about (Diablo), they ruined with the horrid excuse for a product, known as D3, and D4 is looking quite unimpressive, too. The DNA is polluted, at this point. Other than that franchise, they offer little-to-nothing of interest to me. I got into SC2 F2P as a temporary thing for misc. reasons but now I’m back to my posh library of 8 billion games on steam and I don’t need blizz’s free garbage. F2P was just a vehicle for them to try to rip more ppl off, let’s face it.
I do appreciate u replying to my thread. Sry for being so ranty. But: facts^^
