Co-Op Mutation #497: Battle Hardened

The Hybrids on Slayn are channeling the terrazine mists through their massive armies, protecting themselves and allowing them to empower their forces. They have also unleashed the latest round of missile bombardments upon the commander’s bases. Shore up your defenses to have a chance of supporting the first Ascendant.

Hardened Will - Enemy Heroic units reduce all incoming damage to a maximum of 10 when any non-heroic enemy unit is near them.
Inspiration - Enemy Heroic units increase the attack speed and armor of all enemies within a small range.
Missile Command - Endless missile bombardments target your structures and must be shot down throughout the mission.

Notes:

  • [Missiles spawn at the very start], from the edges of the map. They slowly fly to the players’ bases.

  • Missiles deal 100 damage at first. However, the size increases, and eventually they launch [nuke missiles] toward players’ bases. Those ones come with a warning sound.

  • We can shoot down the missiles [10 HP], but sometimes they launch [Point Defense Drones], so we need to shoot those down first. Also, we cannot stop them from spawning.

  • Hardened Will is basically the hardened shields from the Wings of Liberty version of the Immortal. If your normal attack does 50 damage, it will deal 10 damage to units with hardened will.

  • Missiles provide the Hybrids with Hardened Will.

  • Inspiration provides +25% attack speed and +3 armor to enemy units within 5 radius of the Hyrbids.

It’s a fun one! All mutators are annoying in their own right, but can be managed and pushed through with persistence. If you have Missile Command under control, you could in theory just never end this mission and be fine. That said, still nice to not let things drag.

Swann P2 — towers were OP, but I’d rather trade for P1’s pushing power, and still have towers

Swann P1 — Laser drill can be used to hunt and peck them “WMD”s. It still retains its general usefulness

Karax P3 — Spam SoA lasers. Purifier Beam is available against each Hybrid support group, which goes a long way towards mitigating losses, and can even help deactivate Hardened Will by sweeping out the minions and underlings

Fenix P2 — Champions are good at murdering stuff as usual. The shells can help out against Missile Comman

Stukov P1 — Mass Diamondbacks FTW, + bunkers and Missile Turrets.

Swann’s Spinning Dizzies are excellent vs. PDD since their missile racks just cut right through them like a hot knife through butter.
