Co-op Mission Update - Stukov Revamp

You’ve…never seen me try to play Raynor. Or Vora.

People will stop asking for the Bunker nerf to be reverted on the day the Bunker nerf gets reverted.

Here’s hoping it ain’t being reverted.

It’s a strange thing to hope they won’t make him fun again.

He’s still fun, you can still bunker spam. It just needs a little more call down support.

Fun is subjective, the Bunkers were too powerful as far as I have heard.

Let me add to the obviously productive conversation of “let’s talk about the same thing over and over again”.

At this point, the moderator might as well add a poll feature because at least that way I don’t have to keep seeing “yes I want it reverted” or “no it shouldn’t be reverted”.

Who am I kidding, that’d just add to the pointless conversation by saying “look more people agree with me therefore it must/mustn’t be reverted”. So yes, let’s all read this useless post because it is obviously just as productive as asking for a revert to a change that happened nearly 6 months ago. Just wow, lock the post already lmao.

The fact that it happened 6 months ago just means that it’s long overdue to fix it.

Seriously though, since they nerfed bunkers, I barely ever see anyone playing as Stukov any more.
I actually can’t remember the last time I got matched with a Stukov.

By the power of more anecdotal evidence I shall back the other side and say I see many Stukovs, building many Infested Bunkers.

I think you’re lying.
In random queue, nobody does.

False. He’s my main and every time I play coop most of my games are with him. Then I pick my other mains or liked commanders. He’s strong but could get some final fixes if a new revamp ever happens.

If you’re the one picking him, you’re not going to know how many times anybody else does (or more specifically doesn’t) use him.

Actually, I think I only remember playing with a Stukov ally once like a few weeks ago. It was on Dead of Night.
I think other than that, it’s been at least a few months.

Lol. When I levelled Mengsk I also got a few Stukovs. With your logic Alarak is EXTINCT since I haven’t got any allies for months. Same with my allies as Raynor, Zag, etc. But I saw Stukov days ago when I was Swanny.

Again I think he could get some love with some final fixes (Same with rest of comms) but if I were you I’d start moving on regarding the ibunker issue.

Yer a dense one, aren’t ya.

What would you propose as a Stukov main? He’s up there as one of my favorite commanders but there are at least three others I play more than him, so I’d love to hear your ideas in regard of balancing.

Well I would just want a few more things for him if a last revamp ever happens:

  • Fusion of mech/bio weapon + armor research to save gas. Maybe getting rid of iarmories and just keeping iebays.

If you play mech it’s enormously gas expensive to research upgrades for bio (w+a) + mech (w+a) + icc to lvl 3 (+ leap + broodlings).

You should be researching both anyways even if you play just mech because it affects Aleks dropping bio and if you play just bio because it affects Aleks + Apo too.

  • Making volatile infested spawn chance 0-15% mastery permanent and replacing it by something like “permanent units healing” (out of combat). Or making healing ibunkers tech within the iebay affect all starport + factory units as well.

Because while you can repair with iscvs, it costs gas, and you can’t repair bqueens either.

  • Giving his overlords excrete creep (after you build the ifactory) + ventral sacks tech available to research in the iCC like other Zergs have within the hatchery.

On maps like MW or VL I like placing iturrets and other ppl like ibunkers on certain locations but the creep hasn’t advanced yet. Like on VL the second shuttles will go either left or right and creep will be just on one of both sides so my iturrets are useless sometimes.

Excreting creep would help the creep issue and ventral sacks would open new strategies.

While the fact that his calldowns use mech upgrades and his tanks use some bio upgrades means they are all needed, I would avoid the merging,
Too many commanders have that already (Fenix was the last commander with separate upgrades)… perhaps just make both of them cheaper

I agree a “permanent healing” for mech would be useful… perhaps give idiamondbacks+iLiberators the ability to consume infested for hp (like the itank) [banshees don’t need it and Queens have an ok base regen now)

I know but it’s very expensive you need to research and spend a lot. I like how Swann, HH, Mengsk, etc have only one building for all their w+a units. So either merging or making them cheaper by a mastery or whatever I wouldn’t mind as long as they solve it on a hypothetical future revamp.

I would prefer a dedicated mastery or tech (maybe expanding ibunker healing to affect all permanent units) so all of his non expendable get that benefit and not just ibanshees, itanks, etc. But if they let all of those + bqueens consume it would be nice too and I would be ok with that.

And I added the creep issue editing my last message too.

I know all commanders are meant to be different but all new commanders are rather quite powerful and “easy mode” and former commanders feel so oldfashioned or hard mode that they become easily unpopular. I hope devs consider some final tweaks to keep all up to date.

I like your ideas. I’d rather see a research cost cut over fusion though.

You mis-spelled “honest”.

Replace ‘de’ with ‘ho’, rearrange ‘nse’ to ‘nes’, and add a ‘t’. That’s how you spell the word.

It’s odd at that… this week, I got no Stukov allies, but a couple of Alaraks. Last week, I got a couple of Stukovs.

Speaking of which, I’m surprised to hear Alarak is considered “trash”. However, I believe I started playing him before he got nerfed. He’s like a “Protoss Kerrigan”. He still has Slayers (Stalkers), which I’m always a fan of.

AFAIK, the concern is reverting the nerf would “bring him back for all he wrong reasons”. It’d be like if they nerfed Zeratul’s cannons… his usage may drop sharply.
