Bunkers scale poorly after early game, Terran have a slow defensive rotation once on multiple bases. To this effect, without messing with the base bunker concept, a couple suggestions, that aim to give more options to defend outer bases against harassment, more use to bunkers and more relevance to Hi-Sec Auto Tracking.
Hi-Sec Auto Tracking:
Now affects bunker as well.
Hellbat:
Hellbat is now able to enter bunkers. Cheap supply garrison.
any defensive that poorly scale and i dont think its that good early game is spine, what you want to fight against becuase mass repair is where terran true strength lies in
First, it is bad manners to necro a thread that is a month old or older.
Second:
Hellbats and Firebats are different units. They both share anti-light damage, but otherwise they are very different. Firebats are closer to glass cannons that can help deal with Zealots & Zerglings when you don’t have a critical mass of Marines, whereas Hellbats serve as a meat-shield for other mech units. Firebats with Stimpacks are also fast (as fast as any stimmed Bio unit); whereas Hellbats in battlemode are slow and require at least 1.43 seconds to 2.86 seconds in real time to transform back and forth.
On that meat-shield point, Thors/Tanks/Cyclones are armored, but anti-armor units often have to get through the “light” Hellbats to attack them, so a lot of potential damage from say, Immortals or Marauders is wasted. Heavier factory units like Thors, Cyclones, and Siege Tanks are also often less efficient against the light units that Hellbats are specialized against, so the two sets of units complement each-other very well.
Hellbats don’t work as well as a meat-shield for Bio for a couple of reasons:
Hellbats and Marines counter mostly the same units (Zerglings, Zealots, etc) and share the same counters (Banelings, Storm, Colossus, Lurkers, Ultralisks). This make Hellbats very redundant in Bio compositions.
Bio units usually have less range than mech units, so they can often be hit from behind that meat-shield.
Hellbats cannot keep up with Bio without changing into Hellion mode, and they cannot dodge things while transforming.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind if Hellbats could go in bunkers because of the Bio tag, but it is unneeded and doesn’t fix anything.
