everytime i launch the game it opens to just a black screen, i can hear the menu screen music but cant do anything except Alt F4.
your screen resolution and or aspect ratio doesnt match what the game is

how? I cant open the game to change it without the black screen. is there a setting somewhere i cant figure out?
Something you can try first:
In the launcher, open the Settings. Navigate to SC2. Look for a button that says something like “Reset in-game options” and click it. Then try launching the game.
Sorry for the lack of detail. I’m not at home to look up the exact details of the steps.
I will try this. SC2 has started doing this to me as well - used to work, now only gives black screen. Will be back to let you know if it worked.
[EDIT] I’m back. This worked! So thank you Leviathan for this. Though this does mean that the game just up and decided on its own to screw my screen resolution settings as if it were coded by amphibians.
