First of all, I have a little bit of credibility. I came up with the tactical jump idea for BCs which Blizzard implemented at my suggestion which I think most would agree has revitalized BC gameplay. My new idea would set the Starcraft world on fire…
How about there was an upgrade at the ghosts academy for ghostless nukes whereby you could launch nukes remotely and all you would need is sight. I understand this would necessitate a decided increase in the cost of nukes and this could be adjusted to balance (twice the current cost perhaps?). I can foresee a dazzling array of strategic and tactical ramifications for gameplay which I believe would be challenging and stimulating for all sides, especially multiple, simultaneous staggered nukes on the battlefield in conjunction with maneuvering and attacking armies etc…
I believe this all would constitute a nuke revolution in Terran matchup gameplay.
P.s. Don’t tell me this would be OP because cost adjustment is open-ended. You can’t tell me it would be OP if the nuke cost increase were 2 or 3 hundred percent.
I think we all have ways of improving Starcraft in both lore and game play. It’s a great series but WAY far from being perfect or even close to.
So thanks for your thoughts. I agree that it could be adjusted for balance, that’s the good thing about this feature!
Thanks for your reply TerranGenji. I’m sure we all have ideas for the game but some ideas are better than others. What I look for is ideas which would promote gameplay and increase strategic possibilities and potential. Personally I don’t give a damn about the lore, I’m just interested in a more fun experience for players and viewers of pro gamers. Thanks again for your insight

maybe some way to increase ghost sight/nuke range would be a bit less dramatic?
Oh, but I want it to be dramatic. Dramatic is the point (dramatic but fair).
What? No you didn’t. I’ve been suggesting putting some kind of warp ability onto BCs since HOTS. I remember I put in a huge list of possible BC changes back before the forum change reset posts history and jump was on it. Move and shoot was also on the list.
And nukes as a global spell is a bad idea. To make nukes stronger give ghosts more nuke range or a shorter call down time or something like more nuke damage/radius. Something like this.
So… with this idea, the first thing I’d do is turtle so hard, avilo would be jealous. Second, once the turtle is established, I’d just build all ghost academies and rain nukes from the sky. If I am defending, especially as Terran, I will be cost efficient so I can afford nukes even if they were 500/500. I’d just rain nukes for days.
If the nuke can be intercepted with AA I think it can be balanced, the amount of HP and armor on the nuke can be adjusted, it can even be cloaked.
The fact that the nuke itself is invincible and untargetable makes no sense anyway, but that may change too much gameplay so I don’t think.
So how do you prevent nuke to land in this scenario?

Lol. Why would I lie? I gave the (exactly outlined) idea directly to the head designer David Kimm like 3 months before it was implemented in LOTV. I had nothing to do with the ‘move and shoot’ which was their idea. Why would I care if you had a conveniently deleted by the forum change “warp” idea (which I highly doubt you did anyway- yes, I think you’re a liar) before that? Self teleportation by individual units seems obvious now but it is actually a novel idea back then with the only similar ability being mass recall, besides, it ties in well with the narrative concept of warp drive. No need to feel jealous buddy, it’s just a silly little idea for a computer game. The point is I fixed BCs which Blizzard hasn’t been able to do since SC 1 came out. Say thank you. Now I want to fix nuke too, but you people seem to be too dumb to grasp the tactical implications of predictive, positional nuke play in the battlefield coordinated with army maneuvering and all the strategic possibilities it presents.
There is no way. Why should there be? Can you stop any other projectile from firing. Yes nukes are way more destructive yet they are way more expensive and inaccurate too
Exactly what a Zerg would wish
Why is a change in gameplay necessarily a bad thing. Change can either worsen or improve
You could rain nukes from the sky at inordinate cost and they will invariably miss unless done with discrimination and backed up with artful outmaneuvering of enemy army with your own. Yes, and I suppose it’s very easy to afford multiple ghost academies, armed with multiple cost increased nukes plus the upgrade for remote nukes all without a guarantee of actually landing any nukes effectively (there is still a red dot and nuclear warning). If you tried this your opponent will have crushed you with a land army before you had nuke facilities up and running. Your argument holds no water.
Why, you a hater? What does that even mean?
How will he crush me? Terrans have the best turtle in the game. Also you just need to kill structures to win
cuz it’s bad design to give unbalanced tool in one hands. cuz it’s bad balance when one advantage gain leads into single outcome scenario. cuz ppl can stop projectile to land on target especially with missiles. ofc i’m talking about nukes that do work. nukes that dont kill workers, miss by 2 screens off target or cost a battlecruiser won’t be used at all.
You could kill structures with ghosts too but you don’t really see that in pro play because it takes like 2 or 3 nukes to destroy and so is cost prohibitive. It would be more so with a nuke price buff. Also if that were done it would simply be an incentive for the opponent to attack the nuke facilities. As for the turtling, it’s easier for a Zerg to get say 7 brood lords than 7 fully equipped ghost academies and just destroy your defenses or do you plan to afford a huge air force on top of the silos. If you are that far ahead monetarily you should have already won the game
