Banelings intended role

what is the banelings intended role? is it supposed to be a support unit that deals with light or is it supposed to be used in mass to kill ground armies and quickly destroy several expansions.

Kills better light units, kill mass ground armies, quickly destroy expansions + bonus: drop into your mineral line and sometimes serve as a mine field too.

The baneling is supposed to melt anything and everything it can roll on – with minimal effort.

Any thing else you would like to know?

Primary use: Killing ligh /biological units and buildings
Secondary use: killing all that is not a building or light/biological on the ground at a higher cost.

During fights they are basically extra aoe damage, during harass they bustwalls and destroy workers.

Get nerfed

Why does it have to be one or the other? What is the role of the marine? A cheap unit that is good for everything and whose only weakness is area damage.

Cause zerg to lose games through inefficient trades. It’s not an accident that zerg’s only supply efficient unit is also zerg’s least cost effective unit. If zerg wants supply efficiency, he must make banes. Zerg must have supply efficiency, thus he must make banes. If he must make banes, he must trade inefficiently.

Being killed by one WM

Oh noe, I’m sure that’s the reason you can’t even make diamond.
