An Idea: Classic Mode

What if Broodwar was recreated in SC2 engine and deployed as a separate mode (like co-op). The name would be “Classic” (Mode) like “Co-op” (Mode). In Classic you could play BW units/mechanics, but with the modern UI. What do you think about this?

Several posters have touched that subject and the consensus is that BW in SC2 Engine would have a lot of balance issues.

There should already be mods doing that.
There’s even the (offline) campaign Mass Recall that remake all SC1 campaigns (even some maps removed during development and other things).

2 things really.

  1. Starcraft Remastered is a thing so Blizzard has no financial incentive to do this

  2. the balance would almost certainly be thrown out of whack.
