5.0.14 PTR Broodlord + Corruptor Rework (Suggestion)

Suggestion: Move broodlord morph to Mutalisk with greater spire requirement, change broodlord attack to guardian-style single-target damage with a range buff (+2?). Keep difference between initial burst and sustained damage (2 broodling hits to start, 1 broodling at a time after), except make the broodlings visually “explode on impact”. Still single-target, not AOE. Doesn’t spawn free units.

Rework corruptor by changing flat 14 damage + 6 massive to flat 16 damage (no massive bonus), applies non-stacking -2 armor debuff to target on-hit. Goal of rework is to shift corruptor to hybrid air-to-air superiority having synergy with existing AA ground army and utility asymmetrically similar to raven armor shred.

Problem changing brood lord from corrupter is that you have no way to attack ground. Pluss the fac your making it weaker against carriers and battle cruisers.

Ground army is not great against air because map and buildings. Then if use ground army you have use micro shroud on top of it. 3 unit types to tackle just one unit type. Making it more difficult.

Problem removing broods without making it into aoe. They be useless for most part because they would play exact roll as viper.

Then vipers be better choice then, because brooding blocks ground units path way so slow unit can be microed.

Because then if make more then two to three then 90% shots just be over kill. If you only make two to three the damage be so low that it really does nothing. Which then point that they will have no role.

This ideal free units is dumb concept because all really means scale damage it can be low or high. So remove then you at least give half damage it could have done into main attack. Which then without making into aoe it become useless unless you make fast to escape ground army.

I do think that they should be able attack air which then broodlings die on impact.

I agree completely, that’s why the tech path to broods should be taken from the corruptor and placed onto the mutalisk, like Brood War. The pace of the game and the transition to broods would be totally different if it hinged on a mutalisk opener and any playstyle that pivots on mutalisk play. Shouldn’t spawn units. Should just be a Guardian.

In this game, the Guardian would be the Zerg version of a Tempest…which feels right.
