ZenGOATs can heal 47hps while EMPED

Doesn’t seem like an issue to me.

I see it a lot in OWL. When I’m Zen, however, I swear the EMP itself kills me lol

Might not agree with the overall suggestion but I can appreciate the encouragement to spitball ideas and discuss them, honestly.

That’s the ranks I play Zenyatta at. I have literally never received bubble or armor pack during EMP animation (I’m almost positive bubble doesn’t preserve your shields anyway). 0 times. Never once.

Zenyatta only survives EMP if the main healer IMMEDIATELY spams heals while a teammate body-blocks or I slip around a corner. EMP gets beaten by dodging it entirely, not any of this nonsense about surviving in the middle of it.

Or. Like. You could use Mercy+Brig and heal 66hps after taking an EMP to the face. Without the risk of dying because one of them are left with 50hp.

Of course Ana+Brig can be about 91hps, but Ana has to reload and lacks the ability to quickly choose between clustered targets like Mercy can.

When ever theres a bad Sombra and Im like ‘‘crap im EMPd im dead’’ And then I realize the Sombra standing next to me decided to shoot at my front line instead of killing me and I suddenly turn into junkrat ‘‘IM ALIVEEEE!’’

And what’s Sombra’s pickrate at those skill tiers?

Why would your expect countermeasures for something that is rare?

I don’t think it accomplishes that, it’s not big enough to give the different comps enough boost to counter GOATS, plus also affects Zen when going against Sombra 3-2.

I see what you’re getting at but the drawback doesn’t match the positive the way I see it.

that’s why goats is a team based comp, nobody lives through a team focusing a target 47hps or not

the point of emp is to remove any barriers making the focusing impossible

and prevent bubbles armor packs from instantly healing someone up

in addition a discord orb alone outweights the healing by far

Maybe one game in 10-15. That’s not a reason to buff EMP. Sombra has way too much power in her ultimate alone.

Not sure where we would be without Captain Hindsight.

I thought the Dev team said they would rather see a Hero’s Weaknesses buffed before Strengths were nerfed.

I personally think that GOATS is the reason ultimates come up so frequently and are spammed.

There’s so much sustainability to the point where no regular damage can really overpower or break through it, so since nothing is dying, ultimates keep getting charged rather than halted, and ultimate spam becomes the only way to penetrate all that healing and sustainability.

The ladder players will feel the biggest impact of the change, and Brig already is lacking in that scenario.

in the other it make the three off support (zen/brig/lucio) completly unable to keep their team alive at all the level in case of EMP. I think it will be noticed at any level more than it will benefice at hight level.

This would be like increasing the damage output of bastion by 30%, it might reduce the goat usage at hight level will keeping bastion vulnerable to coordinated assault. but the game will be tastless and unplayable under gold.

You may be right, guess that means the other route is better.

  • Allow Brig to activate Inspire with or without hitting stuff.
  • Remove Brig Stun
  • Put in enough filler to round things out

The average ladder player would probably prefer not getting the equivalent of an instant Mei freeze against an enemy with 850hp that mostly can’t be CCed.

Can you explain if emp is really that good why is it that sombra has awfully low win and pickrates across all ranks?

If its really that good of a skill that should be reflected in the stats but it doesnt show it.

Inspire shouldn’t work during EMP. If it does, I would regard that as a bug, or at least an inconsistent interaction.

Inspire is currently completely unaffected by EMP.

It’s not a bug. Inspire is not an aura like Lucio’s, it’s a proc’ed effect, once it’s ticked, it won’t stop until the ticket target is dead or time runs out. It is not an AoE effect as much as it is a AoE that “gives out” an healing effect to other heroes.
