Youtuber does survey on most disliked heroes

The survey was a bit simple since he wanted it to be something you could fill out in 1-2 minutes. It asks your rank range (Bronze-gold, plat-masters, GM+), your favorite role, and to for each role to select your two most disliked heroes to play against from a list of 5 that are often considered annoying, so if a hero isn’t talked about here it means they literally weren’t on the survey.

I think the survey could’ve been designed better, like gold should probably be with the mid ranks and masters with the high ranks, and I don’t see why he didn’t just put every hero on the poll, but over 2000 people filled it out and the results are interesting so I’ll post them here

Tanks
In mid-high ranks, Hog was most hated, followed by Mauga, Orisa, Doomfist, Ball. All rank ranges looked very similar, except in low ranks Roadhog was substantially less hated and ranked below orisa, making Mauga the most hated there.

By role, tank players disproportionately hate playing against roadhog, mauga, and Orisa. Supports also had these as their top 3 disliked, but not by as wide of a margin, and dps were in the middle of support and tank. Doomfist and Ball bothered support and dps more than tanks. Dps hated ball more than any other role, with tanks barely caring about him

Dps
Widow and Sombra are the two most hated in each rank, but in low-mid sombra is first place, while in GM widow is in first place. Widow is hated more as rank increases. Junkrat is third place in all ranks, and is surprisingly most hated in high ranks. In mid to high ranks, torb is next, followed by bastion. In low ranks bastion was disliked slightly more than torb. Here I will criticize the survey’s design, bastion and torb are not annoying whatsoever when not in meta, and they haven’t been in months, and even junkrat isn’t that bad after they took the oneshot away. Heroes like tracer and sojourn definitely should’ve been here instead.

By role, tanks were much more likely to pick bastion than anyone else, and much less likely to pick junkrat. Dps especially disliked torbjorn for some reason. Tank disliked sombra slightly more than everyone else, while disliking widow only slightly less.

Support
For whatever reason, the most disliked hero in the history of the game was not an option. Of the options available Kiriko was most disliked in low-mid ranks, with Lifeweaver beating her out in high ranks, with him being 2nd place in the other rans. Bottom 3 were identical across all ranks: mercy, moira, zenyatta. But mercy was hated much more in lower ranks

Support had the most similar by role distributions, with only kiriko really differing. Tanks and dps hated kiriko much more than support

People who watch youtubers are not going to be a very diverse sample to get any sort of value out of this.

Specially if they are meta hitscan abusers lol

Ill try to answer some of these for fun as to why i think it is.

The reasoning i think why this is, is because hog disables you from doing something for a little bit, the same reason why i know sombra is hated, even if hook doesnt kill you, it usually always annoys people, thats why probably orisa was there as well.

I think the reason doomfist isnt hated by tank players so much is because he doesnt bother them, and an ALARMING amount of tank players just straight up ignore doomfist when hes killing their backline

Sombra is again, because she disables your kit for a while, and can do it abruptly, widow is 100% because as skill increases, the outplay potential against a good widow gets smaller, for junkrat its definitely also because theres still a lot of people who think junkrat takes absolutely no skill, even though esp in higher ranks he has one of the higher skill ceilings in the game, but theres a big “skill elitism” thing going on in overwatch overall, which is why say tracer and sojourn arent there because people deem them more “skillful” than say junkrat bastion or torb.

Its a again for the same reason i think, bastion is a tanks worst nightmare, junkrat however with how he plays now, is more or less tryna kill squishies rather than spam the tank unless hes tryna get ult charge and dps probably hate torb because of the whole 2 life thing, of being able to cancel their potential kill with overclock

For this i would say its just because kiriko is so god awfully powerful and all mighty literal god of this game at this point with every ability being single handily already powerful, and then all of them being on one character, everyone is kinda tired of that.

With lifeweaver, its pull.

Very true - but if I’m honest, I’d genuinely say nearly every observation I saw from that survey, would be perfectly in line with what I tend to see on these forums and in game, in regards to who the most hated heroes are, and who tends to hate them.

If Ana is not the most disliked Support then the entire survey is invalid.
