Your KeyBindings!? And eDPI?

For Mercy my GA is on mousebutton 5 i think, mele Mb4. Everything else is default.

my edpi is 6x1600. around 9500.

I main Junkrat but play way too much Gengu
ULT, PRIMARY, AND SECONDARY - DEFAULT
MELEE - ALT (LEFT)
VOICE LINE - `
PUSH TO TALK - CAPSLOCK
UNDERSTOOD - X
MY ULT IS % - Z

Reload and melee on the sides buttons. Some custom keys for heroes who don’t have an alt fire.
For example Winston where I put jump on right click.
Otherwise scope on thumb buttons for the 2 snipers.
Jump and boop are switched on Lucio.
Dpi is 1200x4=4800. Except for Tracer and Sombra where it’s 4.5.

Mouse sensitivity somewhere between 3 and 4 in-game and the DPI at 800 I believe. Standard key binds except ā€˜SHIFT’ has been moved to one of my side buttons on the mouse. Logitech G903.

I switched zens healing and discord keys. For some reason it feels a lot more natural.

Also ON OFF ON in settings for Mercy. Being able to fly to people freely is so much better.

I’m pretty flexible, but I mostly play tanks and healers.

1800 DPI, 8.33 sensitivity, so about 15000 eDPI. (I know that’s really high, but I don’t have much desk space. I toned it down as much as I could with the ability to still turn around in a single movement)

Ultimate: 4 (the shape/size of my hands makes Q really awkward for me, but I can hit 4 with my index pretty easily)
Melee: One of the keys on my mouse so I don’t need to take my hands off WASD.
Primary: M1
Secondary: M2
ā€œEā€ ability: Still on E
ā€œShiftā€ ability: Moved to Alt
Crouch: Shift (I’m too used to this from other games to change it)

And then various voice binds scattered around.

I have good days/games when it comes to aim, but it’s often middling and inconsistent. Lower sensitivity would definitely help, but it’s no good if I can’t deal with attacks from behind or track faster heroes, so that’s the sensitivity I’ve compromised to for now.

General (PC):

  • 800DPI, 5.6 - 5.75 sens (I’m still messing with my sens)
  • WASD for movement
  • Mouse button 5 (side) for melee
  • Mouse button 4 (side) and scroll wheel click for reload (I’ve always used MB4 but I’m trying to transition to only using scrollwheel which is why I have both)
  • LALT and scroll wheel up for crouch
  • R for toggle crouch
  • G for capture highlight

Cosmetics/Communication:

  • 3, 4, 5, and 6 for sprays
  • Z for ult charge, X for need healing, C for comm wheel, V for hello, B for thanks, F for understood
  • T for team text chat, ENTER for open chat
  • ` for toggle mic mute (open mic) (don’t use a mic often but I can reach it pretty easily if I need to)

Hero-specific:

  • Pharah: Conc. Blast on RMB
  • Reaper: Wraith on RMB, Shadow Step on LSHIFT, secondary fire (cancel Shadow Step) on E
  • S76: Hold to sprint ON
  • Hanzo: Melee on RMB, secondary fire (cancel arrow) on MB4 (formerly reload)
  • Widow: Scope sens @ 37, grapple sens @ 85
  • Winston: Leap on RMB, barrier on both E and LSHIFT
  • D.Va: Hold to boost ON
  • Zarya: Bubble sens @ 85
  • Mercy: Beam and GA sens @ 85, GA prefers beam target OFF
  • Lucio: Backwards wallride ON
  • Zen: Orb sens @ 85, Discord on mouse wheel down
  • Ana: Scoped sens @ 37, sleep on MB4 (formerly reload), bio nade on both E and LSHIFT

That’s a 3.96 cm/360.

You are LITERALLY unable to turn in increments smaller than 1 degree.

Edit - oh. Junkrat main… 12 minutes on Widowmaker.

Suddenly makes sense why you’re not particularly bothered by that.

What does that have to do with my sens?
Junkrat DOES require aim to do well with.
Also I’m a Junk otp on this account but I have a flex account where I mainly play hitscan and a Doom OTP account where I use the exact same sens

Old ā€œLSHIFTā€ is now ā€œQā€
Melee is now ā€œFā€
Crouch is X. Toggle crouch is LCTRL.
Ultimate is clicking down on the mouse scroller.
Voice chat is LSHIFT.

For Junkrat, Concussion Mine is Right Click to throw, Q to detonate.

My Sensitivity on the game is like 18? I think

Some of these DPI numbers surprise me. Like, all the DPI guides on the net from pros and tech people alike suggest low numbers for DPI, but so many players crank it up anyway. I opperate on this high DPI side myself, but compared to most of these numbers I am on the low side.

Your sensitivity and DPI combined is a problem in that you literally cannot turn less than a degree.

You being a Junkrat/Doomfist main, and not a hitscan player, this makes sense. You’re not precision aiming here, you’re using ballpark estimates and constant reorienting instead of lining up the perfect shot.

There’s nothing wrong with reorienting yourself, but there’s definitely something wrong in that if you ever have to make a micro-adjustment that’s smaller than a degree, you can’t.

All the normal on tracer, except pressing the mouse button down reloads.

As for my dpi, I use 4000dpi on 25 (or 15) sensitivity.

1200 dpi, 12 sens, except on 76 and Pharah who both have 9 sens.

movement: wsqe
Jump: g or mouse 4, except on Junkrat where mouse 4 is conc mine.
Melee: f or rmb for those who don’t have an alt-fire (D.Va, Reaper specifically)
Lshift is also bound to middle mouse click so I can use either
Ult = X
Abilty 1 = d
Crouch = scroll UP on mousewheel to toggle, change weapons by scrolling DOWN.

I’ve played MMO’s for a long long time, and have never had jump bound to space as I tilt my keyboard too much when playing for that to be reliable or comfortable. G has always been close to my main quickbinds and is easier for me to reach.

Long ago I rebound wasd to wsqe, freeing up a and d for use as quickbinds, and that has carried over to this game. X has always been my button for proc’d abilities in MMO’s, and so it just makes sense for me to use it as the ult button. F is melee because again, it’s easy for me to hit and I like having jump alternately bound to my mouse thumb button since the hero I bounce around the most as is LĆŗcio, and having it on my thumb button makes it really easy for me to get crazy wall-ride angles around the payload.

I’m sure most people would be confused by my binds but that’s how they have to be in order for me to perform. I’ve tried changing them around and all it does is screw me up in this game and every other one I play as well lol.

Nah, I’m pretty sure people understand once they read that.

Almost 85 degrees of rotation on that keyboard? At that point, anyone would rebind that.

Yeah I’ve tried angling it less, and actually right now it’s probably at about 60 degrees, but I simply can’t play or do anything with it sitting straight across. I can’t even type on a keyboard that isn’t angled, lol. The first thing I do when I use someone else’s keyboard is angle it, and they’re always like ā€˜wtf’.

Incidentally this means my mouse/mousepad sit basically under the right side of the keyboard, which is only a problem when the cord catches on the back of the keyboard stabilizer.

Get a larger desk then.

No room :frowning:

Moving in with my bf in a few months, hopefully will have a new desk then. Then I can have a go at arm-aiming on Pharah, that should be fun.

You can make room instead then.

Get a cable bungee for your mouse. Switch to a tenkeyless keyboard. Put your monitor on a stand so your keyboard is deeper into the desk.

There’s always options.

I play alot of hitscan and I do well with them, only reason I lack in aiming w/ hitscan is because I’m way to used to leading my shots(which contrary to popular belief IS a more skill form of aim)
