Any chance you’d share why you hate Torb to the extent of targeting Torb specifically in games?
I have my own issues with Pharah, so I’d like to comiserate
He probably targets them because he knows they could wreck him and his whole team. As long as Torb is on the board he generates massive damage and eliminations. As soon as the Torb drops, the point is lost.
So teams who tilt over their own Torbs from the spawn are really just throwing the game for everyone.

Anybody who lets themselves get shot at can wreck any team, Torb is no different. So no, saying it’s because they can “wreck” the team is so not it, especially since they can’t because I wreck Torbs. No, it’s because I hate aim-bots, and I target Symmetras as well for the same reason.
Torbs are annoying to me whether i’m fighting against them or they’re on my team depending on whether it’s on attack or not. I mean no offense, but I find them to be incredibly lazy… LAZY picks the way Torb mains use them. Torbs are supposed to be strategic and situation ally used. They are defense for a reason. Instead, since he has aim-bot that gets free kills off-screen, they abuse the aim-bot to do the killing for them. Meanwhile they hide by their turrets, behind a wall, wait for turret to go down just to build it again, which is a playstyle I have no respect for. It’s fine when holding points, but man… if it’s on escort missions and I have to see a Torb the entire time through… Torb is toast.
I simply hate all skill-less aim-bots, like how Sym used to just magnetically hit you. Now Moira’s taken over that and it’s annoying too, but at least it’s face-to-face. Torbs to me, the way many Torb mains play it, EMPHASIS on the way it’s being played, is cowardly and lazy. No pride in getting kills a robot did for you. I have way more respect for Bastion.
I really mean no offense though, I think this is just my psychoanalysis of why I just despise the hero, and why I have to shut them down. My team fur sure never complains about it lol. But yeah, it’s a feature I hate was included in the game.
Having said that, why do you hate Pharas?

Well, there is no defense category anymore, so Torb is a Damage/DPS character now
Being honest here - my aim is awful. Sure, I can improve it with practice (albeit practicing with the only arching weapon in the game -Torbs gun - is really hard) but as such I am a fairly ineffective player if I play Widow, McCree, etc…aim dependent characters - and knowing my weakness, I choose characters where my poor aim isnt such a liability for my team. I do so not to ‘abuse’ anything, but to best contribute to my team.
I dont want to drag the thread in the direction of Pharah, but – I kept getting killed by her and no one else in the first few games I played. I now know I was targeted. I don’t know why, but the impression simply stuck. Illogical, but true.
True, She probably was targeting you. We have to though, or we can’t contest. Torbs are great at defending points, but that’s how I’d use it, and not as a substitute for a DPS slot. That’s when I have issues with Torbs, and then I really go after them lol. I for instance know when I suck at DPS in some games, so I switch to Defense or Heals a lot and contribute that way, but Switch back when I know it’s a good time to do so.
But when a Torb’s out in the open, typically escort, and there’s a Phara, that is typically her job, yeah. And that’s when I especially go after them too. Not gonna lie, it’s kind of a free kill. For Pharas and me anyway-(’ -’ )-
I wasnt playing Torb in those initial few games I played where this happened
But the “I hate Pharah” impression has been a lasting one

That is because blizzard DOES NOT RUN the ban system on console. They can’t control it.

You can’t do that unless you can do that for any hero. What if I disagree with you, and feel that if you play Mercy and refuse to switch, that you’re throwing the game?
If im being harassed by back line heros and dying and i know im not doing enough healing i dont need to be asked to switch… i make the switch myself.
Then you’re wrong. Blizzard says refusing to switch is not throwing. Your opinion doesn’t count.

Microsoft and Sony have no say in who Blizzard allows/doesn’t allow to play their game.
Don’t be so sure about that. Disciplinary systems for most games on console go through microsoft and sony. There have been people completely locked out of xbox live for comp reports.
Before the reporting system was added to consoles silences and suspensions in Overwatch were due to people using the console’s native reporting system.
Since the reporting system was added to Blizzard, they now have control over silences and suspensions in Overwatch. (Blizzard even severed the connection between the Xbox Live reputation system and Overwatch).
You can still be silenced/suspended via the console’s native reporting system if you’re reported via such means, but that’s up to Microsoft and Sony. They no longer have any say in who can and cannot play Overwatch. That’s Blizzard’s purview.

Some people only play one hero. It’s just a fact. Some play Tracer, Genji, Mei, Reaper only.
And they are not always gonna have a good game or win. Instead of flaming him, you should’ve been nice and just let it go. People’s picks is not what is gonna get you wins but your team spirit and coordination.
I wouldn’t have switched either if you spoke nasty to me about my pick.
If they were spawn camping him, it’s not because he’s bad. It’s because he’s torb. They don’t want that torret up, it’s annoying. But it’s still no reason for him to switch if he’s enjoying his game.

Yesterday a team of solos and I were rolling a high diamond game with…
6 DPS. Which is hilarious since the first round we got 0-100d when we had a ‘actual’ team comp.
But then we end up 6 dps and we win 100-~30ish
Sadly the last round was going well… then the server errors happened
