Yeah, Anran did not need any buffs

Its much more complicated to get her damage going too. Genji and Tracer can just shoot and do their damage, Anran has to build up her burn and than start doing some damage. Anran is also the slower of the three.

Doesn’t surprise me that Anran got buffed, when you compare her to Tracer and Genji its evident that she isn’t as good as them.

it’s .4 second delay on leaving wraith form, not entering it. Entering wraith is instant.

Anran is also completely telegraphed. There is a circle on the ground that marks where she will exit E. She doesn’t get to retreat to safety during her E or choose where she exits or strafe dodge to mitigate the delay. She stands still for .2 seconds.

just factually incorrect. Tp yes, but if you are using tp where the enemy can shoot you might be using it wrong

all anran’s cooldowns are 8 seconds. Sure she has two dashes, but she really needs both to be available for her engages most of the time. She also can’t take shortcuts without having to take engages with only one dash. She needs to know every corner she can dodge around cause she can’t press shift and float back to her team. She has to manage cooldowns for escape AND damage, not just press shift to float back to your supports.

(also isn’t the whole point of tp for taking shortcuts and getting into position? Surely you aren’t using it during combat?)

She still has to land combos, do animation cancels as frequently as possible, be able to 180 track enemies after dashing into them, taking into account movement abilities and the dash knockup, and execute higher apm.

Seriously I beg of you test wraith form. Idk where you are getting this idea that it is .4 seconds on entry

He’s a Reaper one trick, I’d be more prone to believing him on timings if he wasn’t so bias about Reaper in the first place.

Reaper didn’t need any buffs either, but here we are

A lot of character’s aren’t as good as them. We don’t need to powercreep characters just because other character’s are strong.

He didn’t get any. DT was gutted with the changes and now it’s more useless than Winston secondary fire.

Shooting both shotguns at the same time is not a negative change.

It is. It costs 2 ammo and has a 6 second cooldown. I’d rather have the Major perk than this permanent addition to his kit. It is that much worse.

I’m pretty sure it also had a cooldown before.

3 seconds. It is now twice as long.

Dire Triggers has gone through a number of iterations and changes for as long as Perks have been in the game.

Used to be you’d fire off a Dire Trigger shot on every third hit (only using one ammo), then if you pushed RMB or both mouse buttons you’d use Dire Trigger with a short cooldown, etc. etc.

They’ve revised it, buffed it, and changed it enough to make it something pretty useful and have attempted to keep it balanced.

I would need more time before I could make any judgements on it (too much stuff to look into and the list keeps growing…), but it seems like it’s in good shape. Dire Triggers never seemed like a bad Perk ever in its history.

When it went missing, I definitely noticed it, cause I always liked it. It’s good that it’s back, and if it’s in good shape, I’m happy with it. I’d rather it’d be functional than broken, though.

It was the less favored pick when lifesteal Wraith existed.

It wasn’t even the favored pick when it was a major perk regardless of what it was up against, now that I think about it. Most people picked fast TP when they made that a major perk instead of lifesteal. The only time it was evenly matched was when you could combo fast TP with DT, but then they nerfed it by making both into Major perks.

That’s not even my opinion. That was just the case when SuperTF and Samito were playing Reaper a lot. Even Choice (champ Reaper player, one of, if not, the best Reaper’s in the world) said he preferred other perks over it.

Until they fix the dash hit box and tone down the self sustain, I will always be putting a ban on her. Once she gets that perk it gets even worse. She needed a buff to mobility, not damage.

Which is so tiny… lol. Not even an issue unless she were to hit multiple of the enemy team

With one person she can get back 1/4 of her hp. Reaper can’t even do that and he has half the mobility. Oh, and be totally immune to any damage or CC that your team might be trying to help you with.

Technically 1/5 of her HP on one person. Reaper is a little more team reliant but he does benefit from lifesteal on all his damage. Reaper also has a damage immunity ability which can instant cast as opposed to Anran’s .2 second wind up on her E, which means Reaper can actually react to abilities/damage/CC and Anran can’t really. She has to predict more than react. Her E can’t get her back to her team or to safety and telegraphs where she will exit, and she also has a .2 second window at the end of her E when she can be damaged but cannot move or use abilities. Reaper can instantly react to threats and move to safety while being immune, which is the tradeoff for it not healing him directly. However, he CAN be healed to FULL health by supports while immune, which is why he is more team reliant, but in a decent team his wraith is way better for sustain and survivability than Anran’s E.

His immunity also doesn’t ignite a team on fire.
My biggest complaint will be whatever is causing the massive amount of no regs on her dash, (only from the side I’m noticing).

Because Anran revolves around setting the enemy on fire… As that’s where her main damage comes from with M2, else her damage is quite “eh”

which isn’t that important imo. Without very prompt follow up by your team it’s basically just ult charge farm. From that perspective its just infinitely worse ashe dynamite that forces you to be within 5m to proc it. Reaper and Anran immunity have their own pros and cons, but from a survivability perspective, reaper’s is significantly better imo, which is what we were talking about. Yeah she does a little damage and procs half a burn meter, but it is more vulnerable with less survival potential than reaper

Yes, you can… I’ve dodged many abilities using Shadow Step, which has a significantly longer wait for invul (0.7 seconds into the animation) than what Anran has. As a matter of fact, I use TP to juke more often than I do Wraith because Wraith is significantly more valuable as an escape tool than anything else.

Like this notion that you can’t dodge things with an 0.2 second wind up is ridiculous.

Not even remotely. You are entirely invisible and the only indicator you have of where she will appear is a circle on the ground that’s barely there for half a second. Not only that, but she doesn’t return on the ground standing up, she returns in a awkward pose floating in the air.

Reaper has an 0.4 second withdraw. 0.2 seconds is better.

Yeah, he also is fully visible and completely incapable of doing any damage, let alone igniting enemies for bonus damage.

It’s almost like Anran doesn’t need to be team reliant because once she sets people on fire, her shotgun-sized beam that can pierce through multiple enemies does double damage up to 10m away with 0 falloff.

She basically just gets a free reset when she uses her E, in which she can decimate whoever is still standing after her first assault and/or leave with her 2 dashes.

Of course it isn’t because it doesn’t fit your narrative.

10m. Stop lying.

Who needs survivability when you can just team-wipe? That minor issue you mentioned about “giving the enemy ult charge” is significantly worse on Reaper because Reaper’s main form of damage is equivalent to Anran’s burn damage anywhere beyond 4m.

what ability takes 0.7 seconds to go off after using it that you are dodging with tp??? it’s technically possible to dodge stuff on anran, but depending on ping/what you are trying to dodge it requires inhuman reflexes. Most CC abilities have around .2 second cast time which means to avoid them on Anran you have to be reacting frame perfect. I cannot imagine what you are dodging by using TP except for like an ult or something.

I think this just means ur bad I’m sorry. The circle is there for at least one full second, and she always comes out of it in the same position relative to the circle. Which means if ur good you can predict exactly where she will exit. If you can’t predict it that might just be a skill gap.

correct, but Reaper gets to go around a corner, behind his tanks shield, over to a health pack, etc. and exit the ability when he knows the .4 seconds won’t kill him. IT’s a longer recovery but its offset by being able to get around cover before you exit immunity

okay? idk why you think a grand total of 19 damage per second over 4.5 seconds if they are ignited is going to do much. I would trade 50 damage for the ability to safely retreat to my team and be healed to full immediately. Sure, Anran does a (very) little damage with her invulnerable ability but comes with the cons of making her vulnerable on exit, 50-100 healing rather than being able to be healed to full, and no meaningful mobility (on her E) that would allow her to get to safety before becoming vulnerable again. We were discussing sustainability, and Reaper’s wraith is just definitively better for that. If you want to argue that Anran’s E is better for doing damage than Reaper’s wraith, I’ll give you that. Reaper’s pros of survivability from wraith outweigh Anran’s pros of doing damage imo

She absolutely does not. Her E grinds her burst dps to a halt and gives enemy supports 1.2 seconds to heal anyone you haven’t killed yet. She will only have one dash left because the other dash is needed to get in range/ignite her target in the first place. Using the second dash for damage is a death sentence. If she doesn’t kill with her E and supports look at her/her target, she is getting CC’d or out-healed if she tries to do more than one right click after exiting E.

It just isn’t. It’ll never kill anyone just by igniting people. The 50 damage is better than the ignition damage and that isn’t even gonna kill if you are doing a dash > dance to ignite the enemy team. Like I said, Anran’s E is better for damage, Reaper’s wraith is better for survivability. Anran’s doesn’t do enough damage to make it more valuable than being able to live for free guaranteed

okay technically 8m, not 5. Also not 10. Should have double checked the number, my bad. I’ll revise my statement. From the perspective of ignition value it is infinitely worse Ashe dynamite that forces you to be within 8 meters to proc it. The value of igniting with E is just not good if you are trying to kill and not just disrupt the enemy team. Because:

1- you get no healing from E if you use it to ignite at the start of an engage, throwing away all your sustain

2- you do no burst damage if you lead with E and give supports forever to react to your play before you actually start doing damage

3- you throw away two animation cancel options if you lead with E

You shouldn’t be using E to ignite on Anran hardly ever unless its on multiple enemies and you are going to immediately dash out. In which case the damage from ignite isn’t going to do much unless your team immediately dives them all.

Ok so we agree that reaper has better sustain? that’s what most of this argument has been about and I agree that Anran’s mobility/immunity abilities are better for damage, and Reaper’s are better for sustain and survivabilty.

Anran does snowball fights, but she still struggles with burst damage and kill pressure at any range unless she is in an isolated 1v1.

I never mentioned anything about the enemy team getting ult charge. I said that Anran’s E if used to ignite multiple enemies is ult farm for Anran . You’re also exaggerating a little bit. Reaper 3 shots at 5 meters without DT, I’ve tested in multiple different target heroes in practice range. 250 health in 1.5 seconds is 166.7 damage per second. Anran’s basic burn damage is 10 damage per second. 20 for crit burn. Even if I give you the crit burn, (which wouldn’t be applied in the dash > dance > dash out situation I was talking about in the comment you are replying to here) you would have to be hitting 2 out of 20 pellets per shot on Reaper from within 10m to be doing equivalent damage. If you can’t hit more than 2 pellets per shot from outside 4m idk what to tell you man.

If Anran is better and easier, why does she have worse pick and win rates in GM/Champion, where people are actually playing characters to their max?

Edit: also Reaper is the 2nd highest win rate and 7th highest pick rate dps hero in Master - Champion
