Except this is literally their attempt to give us more control of the outcome of the game as well as flesh out our characters. They’re doing quite the opposite right now if you ask me.

To be honest, this is probably one the least well received changes I have seen for any game ever. It is crazy how many people are against it. For a sequel we are supposed to be hype for? Never seen this before.

I think there was a change in fort it’s that made building like a millisecond slower and the community practically exploded. Safe to say they’ll never try that again. But yeah, this definitely takes second place.
I think people are split but the only topics being made are from the angry half.

I think that can mostly be attributed to the devs not having enough of the balance changes ready for the showcase. I reckon a lot of people will be more open to the idea once they properly implement all the tank buffs, hero reworks, CC/mobility/sniper reductions etc. etc.
Edit: I will add that it feels very akin to how people reacted to OW2 after Blizzcon 2019.

They’re making this switch after play testing it. They see clear potential with it and know how controversial of a change this would end up being. I trust that at the very least it can’t be worse than 6v6.
Say that it was theoretically worse than 6v6. They’ve never shied away in the past to make this game changing moves. They removed no limits, then role queue, and even added hero bans (which didn’t work and was removed might I add), among other smaller things. It’ll likely happen after they feel like they’ve tried everything to make it work but 8 have no doubts that if it’s really that bad, they’ll switch back to 6v6 and go from there. They’re not just gonna intentionally let their game die. Honestly, this game is low key Blizzards last real chance to be taken seriously. They can’t afford to mess this up.

I touched some grass yesterday barefoot in my yard throwing a ball for my dog. I still hate the idea of 5v5.
We all played 1-3-2 so we have a rough idea of what it feels like to solo tank
But the Covid is outside

Except you would also need to rework new maps and heroes that come with OW2 to work with 6v6 and that would not be cheap.
