Btw forgive grammatical errors plz typing atrocious today
This ain’t a win or lose thing, like I wasn’t trying to fight with anybody, and like I said, I know they aren’t awful all the time.
Literally I just pointed out that they are/can be toxic and y’all crawled down my throat like it ain’t the case. Idk, like I just don’t get why I’m not allowed to point out the facts without having y’all get pissed at me or acting like I have some kind of agenda to push.
I watch toxic streamers all the time, like I ain’t out here saying they should be cancelled or some nonsense like that, I just think it’s important to recognize that they have a fair amount of behaviors that, frankly, are not great, and personally I think it’s a problem when you can watch someone be a certain way and not, at the very least, admit to the fact that they do wrong in some areas. Like you can watch streamers and entertainers in general while remaining aware of the fact that they do XY and Z and those aren’t good things.
For what it’s worth sorry you feel attacked. No hostility here fam. I see where your getting at but on the other side their are ppl who will see post like “their toxic” and judge them based on that. ONLY seeing them as x,y and z is also bad especially when the good he and xqc and others do is swept under the rug. and for the record that is what chips as well as his community deals with especially with the ow community as a whole. That is why I posted tho I should of been more clear I can see now how it looks a lil standoffish.
Didn’t happen when he quit for a bit there, but sure.
Fixed it. Still waiting for that Genji nerf and to have more than 1 tank viable.
It’s doesn’t matter how many people are watching an individual person.
It matters how many people are watching the game.
And in all honesty twitch viewership isn’t what actually matters.
How many people log in and are playing the game matters.
You could have 1 viewer and 100 million players… which one matters more?
say it louder for the people in the back!
This reminds me I need to upload a clip of me as Mercy getting sucked into the massive vortex that is charge. It’s awful.
any one of these would be considered a major issue. Blizzard has managed to do all of them and still think the game is fine. What else will they decide to screw up next?
Fortnite is a phenomenon, its been at the top for so long, i reckon the Players to Viewers ratio in that game is about the same as in Overwatch, it just has so many more players.
As in for GTA, gta’s viewers fluctuate a lot, when theres some new big thing in GTA, or the roleplay servers crack up again, they get a HUGE boost in viewers, but after a while it dies down to a low amount again.
And with WOW, Wow is a completely different kind of game. A lot of people dont want to play it instead of watch it because theyd rather see the high level items, and skills in the game, because they know they dont want to grind for days and days and days and days and days for them.
Thats recent, usually back when i used to watch twitch csgo used to have upwards of 100-150k almost daily, but now a lot of those viewers moved to COD MW Warzone.
Its easy to say that for games streams, its relatively safe to say the more competetive minded a game is, the more viewers it will have. Battle royale games are very competetive minded because their main purpose is to be the only team alive, making the entire journey from start to finish a struggle, while in games like overwatch its multiple fights against the same people for an end score, instead of “one fight lost, youre done”
Its not about sustaining a community, the overwatch community is booming, overwatch is just not as big on twitch anymore as it used to be, a majority of overwatch content is on Youtube now, and is getting hundreds of thousands to millions of views. Since theres not much benefit from streaming the game over making a video, overwatch is a lot more suited for funny clips etc than streaming.
that’s like a lot of people that play this game. both steamers and non streamers. it happens in any game with a comp environment. i understand to an extent but i wouldn’t say he’s toxic just for that especially since that’s not how he is by default when he opens the game.
Crazy how a guy everyone holds a grudge against is almost single handedly holding up the twitch community on The game they like.
The best revenge is living a good life, it seems.
Like, I’m pretty sure we all do it. Like, at least personally, I think it’s normal to have toxic moments in a particularly bad gaming session.
However, when it becomes a regular thing that happens to the point where no one is surprised to see it or people come to expect it, or you’re a streamer and your audience cheers you on while you do it and it’s why some of your viewership is there, that to me is where you go from having a toxic moment to just being generally toxic.
Like, there’s people I happen to play with regularly. Some of them have had their raging moments and it’s whatever. But some of the dudes I play with will have that overblown reaction at least once a gaming sesh and personally, I consider that to be a toxic player.
…That actively harms the game by forcing it’s hyper coordination requiring balance upon a game most people play solo these days.
i understand that and i do agree. i started watching chipsa because i thought his “toxicity” was funny, but the more i watched the more i realised he actually isn’t toxic, or at least as much as people have painted him to be, he just screams a lot.
I have seen streamers like that where they have a toxic persona and keep it up during their streams because it’s what they’re viewership is built upon and i agree that’s very toxic.
in general though if the game you’re playing causes you to act like that all the time then that’s not healthy and at some point the player needs to realise it’s time to step back from the game and try to find ways to avoid that type of behaviour
This is a bigger indication on how toxic the OW community is. Toxic people like watching other toxic people.
