Wrath of the Bride is a poorly designed game mode

It’s replayability was really just an easy way to win 7 arcade games for the weekly challenge by playing an arcade game 7 times and knowing you weren’t going to lose and have to try again.

It is not good even for that because it takes 15 mins just to finish easy mode.
You can do the old junkenstein twice as fast.

I didn’t expect anything different from PVE. I don’t know why so many people are waiting for PVE, thinking it’s going to save Overwatch.

im pretty sure shes only it just because shes the newest hero. kinda unbelievable that they put her into this mission/mode, it makes no sense.

yep, at least the old characters actually talked to each other… these new characters barely say anything, they just react to what is going on in the mission.

I mean the rest of the game wasn’t either so would this really be a surprise?

  1. Sojourn needed an actual Halloween skin if she was going to be in a Halloween game mode, I agree.
  2. I wish it would cycle through different conversations at least, but I’m fine with it honestly. Just seems like they could’ve done a bit more with hero interactions but for a first-time-playing experience, seems good imo.
  3. I agree, none of the heroes can really do anything about/against Winston’s barrier except sojourn and the fact that there’s TWO doesn’t help. It’s also in a very tight area, making it practically impossible to beat on legendary difficulty.
  4. This, I mildly disagree with. I think what Blizzard wanted is so people could find a double utility in the chosen hero’s kits (Example: Sojourn slide can trigger zomnic explosion but come out unscathed) But her carnage is absolutely useless against zomnics :\
  5. I think that is the gameplay. [I feel like they could’ve made it a puzzle or platformer just to make it a bit more enticing or something]
  6. Zomnics deal a little too much damage for how many there are and how much HP they gain from harder difficulties / Zombardiers haven’t seemed like an issue, I normally wait for them to fire and then I weave out of the way. Or I just use cover. Some minibosses are either in a very tight space or deal too much damage (especially in harder difficulties) as well.
  7. This, I also disagree with. The whole point of her fight is so she doesn’t harm the king. But yes, it takes far too long for that segment to even reach the actual Bride boss fight.
  8. Normal and Hard seem Fair. Expert seems a bit hard, but rewarding when you win. I, so far, think Legendary might actually be impossible (especially when solo queueing)
  9. Completely agree, her damage is pretty useless too (especially against the gargoyle barriers
  10. It’d be fun and more replayable if they did this, yes. But recording that many voice lines seems excessive, does it not?

I liked Wrath Of The Bride. But it gets tedious to play and very repetitive very fast.

The skin color of the hero does not matter. Why does skin color matter so much to you?

my brother in christ Kiriko is the newest hero, and both she and junkerqueen, who both came after sojourn, have halloween skins

ok… and?

what did i say make you fly off the handle like that and think i didnt know that?

i pointed that out there because sojourn literally has no place in that pve mission same with junkerqueen… they put them in there just because theyre new heroes.

It’s almost like they don’t care. Buy skins now. Sadly enough people fell for it so it is over.

If the event and mode were this bad imagine how much the PvE will suck lol. This is why I never have hope for anything overwatch blizzard related anymore.

Not a lot of re-playability. After the first couple of runs a lot of the parts just feel irritating - oh now I have to go stand over here, now I have to wait for the radio to finish talking, now I have to go wander around to see where the blasted keys have spawned in, time to just run past this ghost that I can’t damage or defeat in any way…

I had way more fun with Retribution, maybe cos there were less chores or standing around segments and we got some unique enemies and didn’t have to endure the intros as much… Plus the general enemies were a little more interesting to fight than a bot that just slowly floats toward you then explodes (and Junkerqueen pulling them to you makes her a very poor choice for the mode).

On the whole my thoughts were ‘eh, it’s okay, don’t really want to play it again after the first couple of times’. Can’t earn lootboxes so no reason to grind. And with classic Junkenstein at least you were shooting stuff all the time rather than repeating boring tasks every segment.

I feel as well like they just took the newest heroes and shoved them into the mode just cos they were new rather than picking heroes that would be a good fit mechanically or composition wise.

I think the biggest issue is that the characters just aren’t suited for what the enemies bring in.

Queen is more or less CQC and requires proximity to enemies to use one of her main abilities. She can’t even engage most of the mook enemies because they explode and deal damage to her. She can’t use her bleed consistently and her only other form of sustain is on a 15 second cooldown. It might be fine in pvp since her smaller hitbox makes her harder to hit, but AI isn’t gonna miss.

Sojourn is arguably the best suited for this mode. I have no real complaints with her other than it seems like the zomnics always target her more than the other three.

Ashe is literally just reload simulator. Her reload is fine in normal gameplay when there’s downtime between fights or whatever. Her reload in a game that’s about fighting waves of enemies with little gaps to do something where you’re not being attacked? Not it. Especially in the parts with the gargoyles. It’s like… I shoot at a bubble to break it, I have to reload, now there’s another bubble that I have to shoot at before I can damage any of the gargoyles. Ashe would be fine if she had fast reload just in this mode.

Kiriko is meh for this. Single-target heal that has a travel time and can be blocked by shields makes trying to deal with the two gargoyle section really annoying. She has no auxiliary heal and her suzu is on too long of a cooldown to always have up as a lifesaver. If her healing was more consistent, or bursty, or had an AoE element to it, she would be much more suited to this, but her healing is just not good enough for how much damage the enemies can absolutely rail onto your team.

I’m ok with the new story, I played it a few times, but soon got tired of it.
The reason is that it’s not so much fun to play with the given set of heroes.
The all heroes mode would have made this so much better.
I also don’t play Junker Queen and I’m not a big fan of her kit, so the times I was forced to play her I was really bored and underperforming the whole game. Why do I have to learn to play those characters to pass the hardest modes???

To remind everyone how bad double shields were, and we should just be glad with / as dying supports ?

I was not much focused on shields since i play tank usually, it was just problematic as two winstons melt your team fast.
Would be also helpful if all players could use high ground there to bait winstons up and down, but ofc tank is not able to go up there…

  1. Sojourn literally has a detective outfit on, so yeah, she does have a skin for it. And she’s literally the strongest character in the game WHICH THEY’RE LEAVING BROKEN. So stop crying about race and gender on a game forum.

  2. The dialogue follows every other pve event overwatch has had to date… get over it. The devs are lazy and don’t give a flying… you know.

  3. Emphasis “stupid” was all you had for this? Kindergarten.

  4. She’s a new hero and this new even mode wants people to play the new heros. She’s also the only female tank that’s not broken at the moment. But she is female and since gender matters to you… deal with it cupcake.

  5. The butler requires strategy for some. Especially low elo players who are slow to react. BUT since you assume you can just go through him like it’s nothing, clearly you’re in said elo because in the higher difficulties, he 100% will wipe you out of you’re caught slackin. Get gud scrub.

  6. Awww… you want to know where they’re going to shoot before they shoot? You clearly never play PVP if you’re crying about this. Adapt and get better. simple. Where’s the fun in it if you know where they’re going to shoot… LOL

  7. It’s not about doing dmg? Are you daft? It’s literally ALL bout doing damage. Damaging her stop her from hacking the lever, AND damaging her more during that interaction speeds the game up. Because the more you damage her whilst hacking, the faster she returns to another lever to try and hack it.

  8. This right here is perfect. I hadn’t even read this when I commented the above, so thanks for clarifying you’re not even ready for normal. This thing is far from difficult on hard. It’s just flat out fun on expert and normal? Really? Too difficult? Bro…

  9. Kiriko’s healing is very much suited for this as any other healer would have the same issue. You want the off healing from lucio who would barely keep anyone healed, or the off healing of brig, who is a brawler(which you already cried about from the Queen). Would you rather cheese it with Mercy, who is considered Junk’s ally via the OG event? Keep up with lore and common sense please.

  10. This is the only logical thing you said with ANY merit. This I agree with. Offer an “All Hero” mode.

The fact that y’all consider Junkenstein’s revenge better than Wrath of the Bride is hilarious. Y’all spent entire sessions playing the most boring event in the game? You just want something you can cheese. It feels good to play and YOU die constantly… meaning thats a you issue and skill issue. ALL of the heros are 100% suited for it. Your skill level just isn’t suited for them.

And you cry about variety when admitting that you literally spent entire play sessions playing the same 15-20 minute even over and over and over? LOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

NEXT!!!

It was pretty shallow and I hope the official PvE is much better.

A strike in Destiny makes this PvE look like a startup dev with no money.

getting sick af of ppl complaining and f-ing everything, Nothing will ever please u.
I think the halloween event was awesome, i loved the jumpscares. Obviously its an EVENT, its not a whole GAME. It got me into the halloween mood, i enjoyed it. It has literally nothing to do about the pve part of the game.

Bruh… read my above comment if you’re sick of kids complaining. LOL… I think I did a decent job of ripping this comment apart.
