Would you say Echo is Liao's "Daughter"

The point is that there are already omnics with more advanced mental processes than animals and Bastion’s journey is clearly about showing that even the most “mindless” omnics can develop the consciousness and personality of a human. It’s very dismissive of its journey and Bastion as a character to imply that it’s essentially a stray cat picked up by Torb. I mean, it even has its own pet companion already, Ganymede.

It hasn’t to be Nepal or India but just the return to his master.

I think it’s better to think of it in the school of thought where Echo might have some pieces of Liao’s memory and personality, but the moment she was activated, they diverted as any sort of singular entity. Echo possibly has Liao’s memories and personality, but their experiences from that moment onward, had Liao survived, would have made Liao, Liao, and Echo, Echo.

No pun intended.

Why wanting Echo to have Liao’s memories? She copied her speach and mannerism - even her speech is based on Liao’s - because she spend thousands of hours with the scientist learning. (and because she is an adaptative robot)

Did you read her biography? Overwatch 2 - Heroes - Echo

The parts of Liao’s personality are Echo mimicking Liao. She doesn’t have Liao’s memory. She has memories of Liao and times that they spent together, just a you might have memories of your third grade teacher and of your classmates.
