Hey all, wanted to post a quick take regarding how Juno and Wuyang are being written in Undivided. Which uh… kinda has the fandom up in flames.
I really appreciate getting more lore and seeing new heroes interact, but I honestly think Overwatch lore works best when hero relationships are left open to interpretation instead of being pushed into an explicit romance.
When dynamics stay open-ended, everyone gets to enjoy the story in their own way. People who like shipping can still enjoy the chemistry and subtext, while players who love Juno as an independent, standalone hero don’t feel like her core identity is getting shifted into a romance arc. Leaving things ambiguous keeps the focus on her main journey and gives the writers way more flexibility down the road.
Leaving these dynamics flexible lets every fan connect with the heroes on their own terms. I hope the story team considers keeping things open for future chapters!
