Workshop/Custom games improuvements ideas

Hello, first of all know that English is not the main language, please don’t judge too much the turn of the sentences.
I’m a fan of the workshop, I use it a lot, but only on a small level, I don’t have the skills to create it as I would like, these changes will not serve, contrary to other ideas, to enlarge the number of possible modes, but to open the workshop to more people.
Pay attention to idea n°4, I think it will be interesting, at least for Overwatch 2 given the work…

I’m going to explain everything the fastest and easier possible.


1) Delete every useless option for every condition and action.

Having unnecessary option types that do not work with the chosen condition or action slows down the creation time or can even create errors.
For example, having “Game in progress” = “hero” is completely useless and the only options available should be true or false.


2) Having a visual of our action

For actions like “small/big message”, “create an effect”, “play an effect”, even icons, beams or in-world text should be nice for creators to know what they doing without see it in the game.


3) Having more sorting

For regroup actions based for the same hero, as the creator’s will for not being too lost in long workshop creations. Simple change, but if me with a little bit of workshop have problems finding the bug or the thing to change, I can’t imagine with the big creators.


4) Increased the custom game options (be careful, long option idea)

For players who don’t know how to use the workshop very well, the actual custom game options should be open for more modifications, for game without workshop, and can even help to open crazier gamemodes with the workshop. Here’s a complete example with Ana options.

The text in italic must appear next to each option, showing the exact number of ammunitions in play for example, this data can also be modified more precisely if the game has a precise number, without going through the percentage system.

Ultimate cost: 0 – 1000% 2100

Damage ultimate gain: 0 – 1000%
Healing ultimate gain: 0 – 1000%
Healing: 0 – 1000% 250
Damage buff: 0 – 1000% 50%
Damage resistance: 0 – 1000% 50%
Duration: 0 – 1000% 8 seconds

Ana statistics:
Health:
200 Normal
0 Armor
0 Shields
Healing reveived by heath pack: 0 – 1000% 75/250
Healing received: 0 – 1000% 100%

Same with maps options who can be upgraded simply like:
Capture of Point A: 0 – 1000%
Capture of Point B: 0 – 1000%
Even, for capture points, capture by 1/3 of a point, even by people on point (for exemple, you need 3 people on point to be able to start capture it, and only 3).


I have new actions and conditions ideas, but I just want to have improvement ideas in this post. And I saw others asking for a lot of options, so I don’t want to “overload” the workshop developers.
