I’m pretty sure op mentioned trying to play other heroes but they either didn’t perform well or didn’t enjoy them.

i’m ok on zarya and sigma, i just don’t understand why it’s ok that I can’t play the character I enjoy the most, for over a year now. i’ve been more than patient.

Yes dva can work but it is situational. If you didn’t help your dva she would have likely gotten demeched and failed to do anything. Especially since the widow was probably being pocketed by a mercy. Usually supports don’t do squat to help dva in these situations.

OWL players don’t play D.Va in ranked. GM stats, where the best players in the world play, show D.Va is terrible there.

I think dva is way better but sure i guess
I played Dva earlier just Bc they were running Baptiste Ana. I can’t imagine playing her in any other niche circumstance

I quit playing shortly after they released Hammond. D.Va is the only reason I played OW to begin with. She’s the best waifu and girl.

ball has always been tenuously kept in check by his monstrous skill floor and the fact that Sombra and Mei hardcounter him ludicrously hard. He’s an amazing hero, borderline oppressive in the right hands and circumstances. D.Va’s a fly fart rn

it depends on ur play. Most players just hard feed with her. Her dm and high ground contest is nasty. Its just a learning curve, just like any game. But sure lets make it easy for the plats who don’t know how to play the game
At the 98th percentile, D.Va players average 4.9 mech deaths (which we will analogue for real deaths). This is the third highest for tanks after Winston and Reinhardt, who are appropriately bigger focus targets. She already dies a lot, even at high ranks. And she doesn’t have the main tankability to back it up; she’s no initiator.
Hammond has the lowest, btw

She was NOT a key member in fact. She was usually swapped out for Sombra and Mei.

dva hasnt been played in ranked for a while. Dva has to invoke team work. And nobody counter comps in ranked. People will just lock dva because they like her. Rein zarya has the highest pirck rate and dvas bad against rein zarya in ranked at least. Against double sheild she needs a lot of coordination to play right. And ball is inflated by, idk, the numerous ball otps.

And isn’t because Shields are OP its because Earthshatter is probably the most broken and retarded skill in the game, paired with Zarya is pure cancer.
Every time you engage for the point/payload if you dont have a shield earshater have 0 counter play, enjoy getting 3-4 of your teammates stunlock.
It’s interesting, because when D.Va is allowed not to be complete trash she isn’t NEARLY as demanding of team resources as, say, a Winston or an Orisa who demand specific heroes. D.Va is historically known for being flexible, for being able to fit into comps in ways that might not be the BEST (for instance, Zarya is the BEST fit for Reinhardt) but that still work. GM ranked, top 500 ranked is where pro players play, after all–of course they counterpick. She’s been systematically taken down by a series of fundamental nerfs to the cohesion of her kit and the insistent introduction of heroes that circumvent DM with impunity, and it’s finally been showing in her abhorrent successrate.

Explain why she’s the worst tank in GM then. GM is where every OWL D.Va specialist plays. If it’s just “the plats” that can’t play her, and “Its just a learning curve”, why can’t the literal BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD make her work?

shes only good for counter comping with double sheild and rein zarya being “meta” in ranked. Rein dva and winston dva takes a lot of coordination to pull off.
They don’t want to play her because shes only good in counter comping, in ranked people only like to mirror
I honestly think the devs shot themselves in the foot by nerfing/reworking or adding hard counters to some of the most popular characters in the game…
Tracer, Dva, Genji, Mercy. They absolutely ruined these communities.

No, she was not “usually” swapped out for a DPS. It was a 3-3 comp. Sometimes a tank would get swapped out, but majority of goats games were played with Dva, Zarya, and Reinhardt.
