The game has problems all around. Introducing hero bans as a way to put-off having to balance problematic and egregious heroes is just like something Team4 would do.
Hero bans are a horrible idea deemed necessary by even worse hero balancing. They need to get to actaully putting all these heroes in a good space via extensive hero reworks, or just remove them from the game at this point. They seem keen on letting players do that much after all.

I think this game would be better if the dev remove Doom, Ball, Sombra, Ana, Mercy, Widow from the game and lift the ban system. I guess peeps will get happier playing the game that way.

I think fundamentally a heroâs design and gameplay âidentityâ should NOT be preserved simply because other players have gotten used to it.
If the heroâs gameplay identity is problematic or overly egregious, it should just be gutted and reworked. But as much as I joke about it, I wouldnât actually like to see heroes straight up removed from the game, nor do I think it is a realistic ask. Because on the other side of players who like a hero for their âproblematic gameplay,â are players who simply enjoy the hero and their personality or lore. So keep them in the game so players donât lose their favorite heroes, but rework their gameplay identity to be healthy for the game overall.
You are basically saying you would feel bad for every mercy main if they lost their favourite hero?
we can try it for sure we just go back to ow1 release in terms of ammount of playable heroes.
or even less as that list still has hog, mercy, widow in it.
that leaves us with zen and lucio on support (nobody wants a sym support so removed)
Just to elaborate or reiterateâŠ
Iâm saying preserve the personality, scrap the poblematic gameplay identity.
Agree. I like the idea of hero bans in general but unfortunately I mostly play QP. Wish they will implement them on the unranked mode as well.
Please dont let the QP mode be infected with hero bans

Throwfist ? Are you for real
Hero bans should never be in QP or any other mode, it encourages toxicity, creates a bad atmosphere and people intentionally misuse it.
Absolutely NOT. QPs already gone through enough changes simply to be more like comp, starting with removing hero stacking.
And everyoneâs just supposed to roll over for you? What if they want to learn something too, or just play the game? I always hear how âit doesnât matter, itâs QPâ and then immediately people want to be adding more comp rules (got the leaver penalty already). Itâs always âchill out, manâ until something doesnât go your way.
And what? This ainât OW1, Sombra does so little to tanks now. Hack disables abilities for so short I donât even notice it. I laugh at Sombra hacking me as Hammond.
You really want unranked with bans, tell them to add a mode like in Heroes of the Storm, which literally called unranked. It has banning phase like ranked, but doesnât actually have ranks. Just buzz off from QP.
Hahahahahahaha. Good one.
Can we stop with this âpointâ already after 5 years?
Good lord, always throwing out the âtoxicity is badâ point trying to virtue signal and make anyone who likes that thing/system look bad.
False premise. Total fallacy.
No.
Bans are good.
They would do good in QP too and yes, they might happen. Nobody knows that.
