I just checked my stats.
I have a 53.7% win rate total.
53.2% on Support
54.8% on DPS
55.3% on Tank
Surprising, because I don’t like playing tank and it happens to be my best performing role.

Yes 50% is the middle?
Idk, to me 43% is like an F- but apparently in ow it’s like middle idk.
thats the algorithm skewing your perception of normal multiplayer matchmaking.
if i put a monkey on a new account it will eventually get 50/ 50 matchmaking, the monkey doesnt really matter to the algorithm.
winning every 2nd game is not normal.
no people who are good have better than 45% and bad players have less than 45%.
if somebody played 100 matches and won every match that landed on an even number, you wouldnt call that real cause its statistically unheard of.
the loss ratio of good players cant be based on being relative to their win ratios, a loss is an inherent imperfection or dent in their overall win/loss combined ratio that cant be clawed back to an even state(in the same way draws have an outsized effect on the win/ loss ratio).
the only way somebodys loss ratio can be relative to their win ratio is if we knew with certainty that for a certain number of losses you would win the same amount of games, that can be applicable with any win/ loss ratio combination but we are using 50/ 50 over here so players can engage more with the game.
Yes it is, if you are at the right rank. Thats the point. Its simple math and you try to make it something else. You will rise or fall down so long, until you are in the right place and then sit at a 50/50 rate where you belong. Thats the point of ranks and MM. If you put a Monkey on the game, they woulf fall down to Bronze 5 (deep bronze 5) and then also get a 50/50 because at some points its hard to loose, because how bad other people are or that your mates can carry you.
The only point where a 50/50 is not possible is in deep bronze 5 and high Champion 1 (or what its called) aka where the ranks start or end. But thats so rare that its not worth mentioning.
Nah bro. If you have a below 50% winrate you are negative and therefore will rank down. There are plenty of people with winrates that are higher than 50% who do that consistently. I would say something like 48% is also fine, but after that you just rank down.
Yes, thats true. Thats why the number of games matter. If someone has like 1k games and sit at a below 48% winrate, they are quite bad. In Ranked they should rank down and in QP… well they are just f-ed.
No idea what you try to come up with here, but it seems like you need to go back into math classes and look to how this stuff works. If you have a 43% winrate, you automatically have a 57% loss rate, meaning you lose much more than you win, resulting in a downwards trend. Nothing else matters in the context. Its every simple: win more games than you loose and you rank up/are better. The opposite and you are in the wrong rank and are worse than the people you are playing against.
You can cope all you want, but 48%-52% is normal for a player. Above or under that will decide if you belong in a certain rank or not.
is that special rank the normal rank though?
yes but you have the number wrong, 50% is obviously the midpoint and then another 5% is taken to account for the real world where you lose or have a bad day.
its more about how bad you are personally as opposed to the teammates and enemies surrounding you.
no 50/ 50 mm is the algorithm, not the players in the match.
theyre above average
50% is really easy to understand, whats hard to understand is that the real world doesnt work like that.
yes but you dont get a downward trend until you get below 45%.
If your main is below 45%, consider a new main. You might have more fun. I’m serious.
My mains for each role are Dva, Junkrat, and Lucio, if we go by playtime.
Winrates for my primary mains:
60% Dva
55% Junkrat
50% Lucio
Secondary mains:
56% Rein
53% Cassidy
54% Mercy
No, I love moira, even when I completely suck as her…but thank you for your kind advice and showing me your stats…I appreciate candour. My win-rate dropped to 42 now ^^
If you consider that a sizable proportion of players in matches now cheat, if you’re not one of those, then your side has a significant disadvantage which could easily be the difference.
True, I have seen a lot of cheaters in replays
Your player likeability rating is probably too low, try being a nicer player to others.
See patent us10561945b2
But I am at 4, is this also bad?? Am I a complete failure there again??
I think you’re right.
Considering there is a forced 50% win rate in this dumpster fire of a game, id say you are about average. Just remember, you have ZERO control over how your games turn out. If the game wants you to lose, you will. Especially if you are in QP or any of the non-ranked modes.
And from what ive read and heard; ranked isnt that much better either. Best of luck to you.
Suuuuuure there is lmao.
Make sure to keep an eye on the levels of tin foil in your kitchen drawer for your hats lol
Ah, youre one of THOSE people…
As someone with a 62% winrate in masters over a ton of games, what are you actually on about? The game does try to normalize your winrate by ranking you up if youre good, and down if youre bad, but if you think youre being forced to a 50% winrate in gold, thats just cause youre not good enough to have a positive winrate in plat. No conspiracy, its literally what an ELO-system means.
There are people who win the lottery. That people are just exceptions. Average winrate is 48-52% for most of players
wonderful, I am very proud of you baby girl…well done…well done indeed…<3
I mean it doesn’t really matter, and the hard truth most never recognize is that neither does rank.
All rank is is a visual representation of where the match maker has you to try and get you to about a 50/50 winrate. It means you probably made your first descent and haven’t come back up yet. It really means nothing important. Bronze all the way to gm the point of the matchmaking is to get you in a skill bracket for you to have the most fun ie 50/50 games. I think for most average players it probably takes a couple seasons to even out their first forray into comp and the losses you probably took. When I first started in season 9 until season 11 my win rate was at like 46%. Then the switch went on and I started climbing and fast when I figured some stuff out. I think it’s still barely like 51% and I’ve gone way up in rank.
My honest and most sound advice.
If you want to “improve” do the following.
Queue comp, do not care what the results are.
Play your hero fundamentally how you believe they are meant to be played.
Experiment without fear if losing because like I said the rank does not matter!
So in comp m-f I flat out expect to lose, I’m improving and learning not trying to win.
On Saturdays I have my own tracking system and stats and spreadsheet and I spend a few hours trying hard and putting to use everything I’ve learned over the week. That’s the only time I care about winning because I’m testing my own results.
OW only has one comp mode so you need to use it as both practice and as trying. So your rank has to be scuffed if you do it correctly. Or you get a second account if you really really want them tracking for you I guess. But I just use a spread sheet. My official rate is like 55% this season? But my tracked rate on when it matters on Saturdays is at like 80%. And I’ll take that. Means I lose a lot the other times which is feedback that I’m learning correctly.
