I love Doomfist. I related to him immediately. I love high skill caps. I lift. I love villains. Etc. I put in the hours. I learned the tech. But for the sake of my mental health, I just had to put him down.
If you win even ONE fight with this man, you will be swapped and pressured to the point you will quite literally, barely be able to play the game, while your teammates are begging you to swap as well, in quick play. Itās torture.
All the while Iām thinking in the back of my head: āMan, it sure would be nice if I had a SECOND TANK to help me sustain pressure, or fall back when needed.ā And then, something clicked in me: I realized that even if I swap to another tank, the cycle will just repeat. Over and over and over again. Tank at its highest level is a glorified game of rock paper scissors. Does that sound fun to you? If I was looking for gameplay like that Iād go back to multiplayer Pokemon (has the same amount of cheaters anyway).
Itās not fun. Itās just not fun. You canāt bribe me. You canāt buff me. You have to give me a second tank.
I put my shield down, and am currently really loving improving my aim with Ashe. Sheās not as complex mechanically as Doom, but still a blast to play with.

1 - we revert back to OW1
2 - Roles were properly balanced and tuned
3 - you paid me about $10k a game.

Im baffled that people really think tank is that bad, its mental diff fs. as long as you have 1 support that has a brain, your fine. Provided you have a brain that is.
I will play tank when they make tanking fun. JQ is fun. I have to have 6v6 to enjoy tanking though. Getting infinite booped mid winston jump by a brig with no zarya bubble to stop it is not fun tanking. Tanks have no room to breathe and be creative. 6v6 offers more creativity and silly ults by tanks and the tank dance splits cc in half if you have a 2nd tank that watches your back.
I actually play Peni Parker as my main in Rivals and im an OW dps main. 6v6 and fun tank design with clear weaknesses and strengths is fun. There is also no counter tank swapping neccesary.
Uhā¦ Have you played this game? This playerbase easily has the weakest mental of any competitive or party game that I have ever witnessed.
Till that partner choices something that doesnāt work with you, and you get stomped because you canāt cycle cooldowns or setup up offensive comboās.
and if your not tank, theirs a good chance it will be filled with DPS that just want quick ques. So itās only zarya/hog/d.va in every game.
