This one line alone shows how little people actually understand what the changes are doing, or the intended effects others have.
For starters most kits are not being simplfied, if anything the likes of tanks are becoming more complex.
Winston gets new tool that not only lets him poke from long ranges, but also improves his ability to dive onto single targets. This tool does not replace his primary fire, it is not optimum to be the only thing he is doing all game.
but it does open up new options for winston, new ways of engaging. And adds more of a aim related skill ceiling to a hero that mostly required posistional awareness.
Rien’s charge cancel lets not only do fighting like comp’s with pinned targets he doesn’t want/can’t pin. While also allowing him to instantly cancel into his ult/barrier/ and other abilities, thus allowing him to actually use it like a mobility tool be it a grounded one.
While a lot of other changes like swapping out the hard hold of junrats trap, with a slow down.
Like yes tank combo’s are not a thing. But like their were not exactly well used outside of the pro/and top 5% of the player base.
Or when they were it was effectively a rien zarya taking turns with aggro. Or winston d.va targeting the same player to dive.
The vast majority of use are not exactly missing out on much interms of actual game play depth. If anything we are going to see a lot more niche interaction and combo’s between dps/supports/ and tanks come into light. That were otherwise kind of pointless do to how much the two tank limited vaibility wise.
Like a previously a solo rien and lucio couldn’t exactly charge the enemy team and expect to live. Where in the footage they showed us, with the more spread out gameplay. Were focus fire isn’t exactly viable to do how open everyone is to the effects of any other hero.
like one nade or Dynomight can and will consistently feed off grouped up 5v5 teams. and any attempt to focus fire at that ashe would mean they just left their side open to the enemy tank. Who mostly likely now has the tools to easily get picks on squishies.
