Will you drop OW2 if queue times don't change?

The vast majority of all the new F2P players are going to want to pew pew.

They will queue for DPS and Fat DPS.

If anything, queue times will likely be worse unless something drastic changes.

Boom. Nuclear launch detected!
Many complainers and doomsayers will still rant about it but just like always … most of them either dont leave or leave for 2 months and comeback.

WoW has been ā€œdeadā€ for like 6 years and doomsayers have been ā€œleavingā€ the game for that same period and there it is … still kicking.

They also have new content. What have we gotten in 3 years? Other than a lot of empty promises. Like more communication.

I wish that was true. But I stopped playing OW nearly as much as I used to after I got bored with support. I got into climbing with tank briefly, but it wasn’t able to keep me hooked like supports. Ana was what pretty much what kept me hooked in the game despite not being able to play DPS. I ended up putting ~300 hours just on ana alone. After that, the rest of my hours were mostly put into baptiste.

So as long as tank has a reasonable queue, I could end up putting about similar amounts on both roles. But if it’s just support that has a reasonable queue time in OW2, then I will probably get bored again after ~300 hours.

If tank + support is playable in OW2, then I’ll definitely stick with OW2 over a long haul for sure. It’s just that in OW1, tank wasn’t worth picking up since the role wasn’t equally as fun as support. But I know that’s not the case any longer.

Queue times could be an hour and it wouldn’t bother me……cause I simply avoid RQ

I mostly play in arcade modes with decently fast queues. I used to QP queue as support a lot, but recently the support queues suck (I’ve even seen the fast pass option come up for support the other day), so I don’t bother outside of doing an all roles for a free box if I feel like it. I’ll just go play quick play classic in arcade and get in in less than a minute instead.

The OW2 beta support queues were much faster, so I might go back to doing that in OW2. The OW1 support queue is sometimes 4-5 minutes (and no, I don’t want to wait in a queue even for 5 minutes). Blizzard has already taken enough of my time in queues in early WoW years especially, I don’t have the patience for it anymore.

That’s not many people. Let’s not defend bad matchmaking here.

True. They will bottleneck the entire role queue system, which is flawed from the beginning. Queue times will be insane.

And it’s not their fault that dps characters are way more fun in ow than support characters. Not to mention that the game has x3 more dps characters than support characters.

Open queue will make them quit the game even faster, since any team with 3 tanks and 2 supports will annihilate the teams with 5 dpses.

They should just remove roles all together and make it like valorant.

DM is fun between games. Solo to team experience.

I never play RQ, I would maybe leave if they dropped OQ, but RQ only means OQ balance is awful, still preferable to RQ though.

I would suggest that you go play valorant if you want it to be that, I prefer OW even watered down to valorant any day of the week.

I didn’t say copy valorant completely.
But their system clearly works much better (it’s the most balanced fps game with super powers). Just nerf the abilities on all characters and create a balance between them all. So that it will not matter who you pick.

Thats not OW anymore, OW has always been about abilities, nerfing them for some heroes literally means deleting them, how do you balance Reinhardt, Doomfist, Mercy by nerfing their abilities?

I wouldn’t play a game that keeps me waiting for more than 5 minutes to find a match.

And going by the OW2 beta, that’s being optimistic. People can complain about DPS not being fun, or that supports are balanced all they want, but if at the end of the day queue times aren’t fixed, OW2 is dead on arrival.

I am a support player (mostly Mercy player haha) so I dont care too much about que time.
But is true that if you want to play as dps… Is a hell

First of all making health equal between all characters. And secondly making their abilities be used only a certain amount of time.

It will make ow actually require a decent amount of skill, instead of having something like this.

No lie, I would stop playing if they did that, that sounds so genuinely awful, it surprises me that you think its a good idea.

The que situation is terrible to begin with. You leave a game, then get qued right back into the same game? Why would you make rejoin a game i left? got banned for leaving the same game 4 times wtf

WoW is a shell of its former self.

Do you have any idea what Cataclysm did to the playerbase?

Until the actual game comes out on October 4th, no one knows what the que times will be.

It’s going to be free to play, on top of that it’s going to have a new battle pass system which will get players wanting to continuously play because of FOMO, along with hype for whatever new heroes maps and game modes that are going to be included.

All that is a guarantee that they que times are going to be different than what people are speculating just because of the beta. Which the player numbers in the beta are a far cry from the amount of people that are going to play the full game on release.
