Or will all the modes / codes be incompatible and every authors will have to redo everything from scratch?
I recently saved a code for a mode I like with my own adjustments to it but it just dawned on me that it might just not work at all on Oct. 4th.
I don’t remember where, but I could have sworn they said that game codes and saved workshop modes should carry over. Regardless, I could easily foresee a bunch of modes breaking anyway because of hero reworks and whatever behind-the-scenes engine changes we haven’t been shown yet.

Your current valid Workshop and custom game codes from Overwatch will still work, so please be sure to save any custom game modes/codes that you’d like to bring with you to Overwatch 2
