A youtuber by the name of Aria Rose made 2 videos on Why Ressurect was a good ultimate, and Why Valkyrie isn’t.
TLDR:

Mass Rez was easy to balance and good mercy mains didn’t simply “hide and res” like popular belief.

Valkyrie doesn’t work as an ultimate because a good mercy won’t need the extra mobility since she has that from Guardian Angel. It also leaves her vulnerable to snipers, which means she’ll have to hover near the ground anyways.
IMO: They should revert her ult back to the mass rez, BUT they should add a slow/delay to it (much like the current slow mercy gets from rez’ing someone).

Didn’t the devs come out and say something like 90% of the time a mercy would hide. Idk where this girl got her stats from, but im trusting the devs when they said hide and rez was used a lot. And was the sole reason for why it was removed. Because they felt it was against the job of a healer to leave the team to die. If it wasn’t used that much according to that video, then why was it hmmmm?
And her current ult isnt about flying around, it’s about mass healing.

Ummm. Friend of main literally went to GM with “hide’n’res” strategy. If he got ult - he prefer to stay out of the fight to be safe instead of risk your life trying to heal someone.
I agree that Valkyrie is bad but for different reason. Your gameplay doesn’t actually change with an ultimate. You were healing, you ult - still healing, but with aoe, bigger range (why) and flight.

yet fully outclassed by Ana, who had:
AOE healing tool
Better utility
Better damage
Better ult
Bigger range
Much stronger heals.
Her only drawbacks were lower survive-ability and higher skill cap.
Was she really fine as solo-target healer?
And so that makes mass healing bad?
Where has this attack on “she must be a single healer” come from? Running out of things to complain about? There’s nothing wrong with team healing.
