support is what i play if I want the freedom to play by myself and help others when possible but mainly to enjoy myself and not getting limited by hp packs or the other support.
support passive is the most fun thing in the entire game. if dps had it i would play dps again but its to much to give up the healing passisve.
Because they’re f^ overtuned, have ultimates on basic cooldowns and as the post says, they do the same damage as DPS while healing, CC-ing?
How is Ana throwing a JQ ultimated in a choke “defend herself”?
How is Zen throwing random oneshots WHILE having the enemy tank perma discorded, WHILE healing someone “defend himself”?
How is Kiriko flanking and being unable to die because she has TP and an inv with 2 headshot kill “defend herself”?
As for Ilari, the only reason she’s not talked about it’s because she is in the support category. Keep the character EXACTLY the same, switch the role to DPS and people gonna lose their minds.
“Oh my god, how can you give healing to a dps? That’s insane”.
Like yeah, this is what support is, DPS with benefits
The supports are so disgustingly overtuned, I’m honestly amazed people are defending this.
And they keep this role the way it is because the support players are such braindead people and refuse to get better and always threaten how they gonna leave the game, and the 2 reasonable supp players who actually say themselves “yeah, stuff is op” are being shut down immediately
And this is why you can’t listen to a single thing a dps player says anymore. I feel bad for the players with brain cells because you’re making their whole role look bad.
The entitlement. The audacity.
They have the most firepower, the most heroes to counter with, the most mechanically demanding heroes in the game, all the best streamer and Owl players, they have zero responsibilities to their team (that they acknowledge)
They just go pewpew with zero reaponsibitlies and spend all their time crawling on the the players who spend all their time babysitting them.
I hate to break it to you, but we’ve been telling you what support is for years. You just won’t listen. And now you seem surprised.
Maybe go play a game that’s more your level. Like Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
You won’t find any supports doing their jobs and yours while you’re there.
Go into a DM and see who is top. It’s almost always supports above DPS. Supports can sustain themselves and output good DPS while DPS only do the latter. Supports are just better DPS.
Once you get to the highest levels DPS, especially 1 or 2-tap DPS, are going to win out. But go down to metal ranks and most DMs I join have any supports in the lobby usually in the top-3
I’m gold. People can’t aim. I play support and win a good number of the 1v1s. I play dps and lose a good number. Maybe that means I’m bad, but I’m about average for the player base.
For headshots…I really don’t see many impressive or interesting strategies anymore. They’re so nonexitent its sad to even expect the old days of Overwatch.
At this point a Pharah or Echo is exciting to watch. Yeah…that bad.
I’ve been getting mostly support players in my open queue lately so that’s been a nice change. Dpsing the entire time and winning. I don’t think we need new DPS though they have plenty to choose from
That WAS true but now they have gone too far. Support was popular even before Illari. Queueing flex I would get as much dps as support, and mostly tank.
They’ve buffed support at the expense of tank, and to some degree DPS too. They’ve made healing even stronger, and it was already too strong, and with the release of Illari it seems they are going to make it stupidly strong and don’t care the impact that has (I mean, 170HPS for 3 seconds every other 3 seconds if you stand near the pylon - what were they thinking?).
So just “use my abilities as they are intended”? Hacking tank may cancel their defenses in crucial time, hacking supports will leave them vulnerable for a dive for a moment + increase your damage. Hacking dps is often pretty worthless unless it’s a Deflecting Genji or Tracer in your backline dancing around and she is not aware of you.
I don’t like Sombra but don’t be mad that people do what the hero is supposed to do XD. I could do the same list for any hero.
Doomfist?
Punch tank, punch tank, punch tank, constantly disrupt, come back with cooldowns, punch tank, Rein leaves.
Dive and kill supports, dive them before they position again. Support leaves.
Hog?
Spam tank, spam tank, spam tank, hook tank, spam tank, tank dies, tank leaves.
Hook and kill the support, hack and kill support before they come back to fight, support leaves.
If people leave because they lose to something they don’t like… whatever man. But Blizzard should take a note and do something with Sombra since so many people hates going into Sombra with a passion.
There is a difference between sombra and all other heroes - hack from invis and free escape both make her intolerable to play against. I would never play as sombra - she is a scummy hero that sucks the fun out of games. You can say she is like the others, but really not. Her gameplay loop is just toxic and the number of people she causes to leave is a good indicator of it. The fact some players make it worse by constantly hacking the same player, usually the tank, just makes it even more toxic.
I don’t like fliers and snipers more. I agree that hacking from invis is very cringe, it removes most of the counterplay to her. But I don’t understand your reasoning for calling something “toxic” because they bully tank. If it works, it works lol. Is Torb spam toxic? Or Mei walling you off?
