Why Tracer Needs a Nerf

Just swap to Sombra, Hack her and she’s dead… it isn’t that hard…

Yes in regards to a character that can instantaneously move you just need to aim better by somehow tracking that INSTANT movement as she is getting shots off while you are adjusting your aim.

If that is the argument why bother nerfing characters like sombra when you can just tell people to aim and react faster?

The issue Tracer has is she can outrange her counters and still do very effective damage, lots of it. Its why you see good tracers going after Winston because they aren’t scared of him. They can very quickly outrange him and farm ultimate charge off of him, same with Symmetra.

Torbs turret has technically been her hardest counter due to it aimbotting her but…its torb’s turret.

She can counter mechanics mean to counter her by using her blink/movement mechanics those counters are meant to stop.

If she has access to the ability to outplay her counters outside of their effective range while her counters don’t have anything in their kit to respond to this makes her op. A counter shouldn’t stop being threatening after a certain skill level.

The whole reason you want to use a character like mcree is to stop her from moving so just telling the mcree to aim better defeats the entire purpose of the character.

The problem is though that tracer is next to impossible to balance. Hence the reason she is the only hero who has stayed the same since launch.
If you nerf her, at lower ranks she is pointless because Tracer is skill based. So personally I feel she needs a rebalance.

Except her KD is not insane in high tiers. She’s 6th highest on overbuff for E:D with 3.1 and Roadhog and Soldier are right behind her with 3.0 in GM. In Masters, she’s 8th at 2.8 with Sombra and Soldier beating her.

Both streams and KD indicate that she’s fine. Only indication she’s not fine is in salty player’s imaginations where she is impossible to hit and one clips people every single clip.

In my games, i see healers have more power over Tracer than Mcree.
Because they simply do not deal with her by trying to hit her.

The most reliable way to deal with tracer is Moira and Mercy.

If your team spreads out, Mercy.
You can pocket her victims and outrun her.

If your team stays together, Moira.
She does not kill Tracer. Moira halves her time fighting and doubles her time running.

Tracer: “No way you gonna kill me”
Healer: “No way you gonna kill him”
Tracer: “I’LL KILL YOU”
Healer: “Flies to the other side of the map” or “Dissapears like a ninja”
Tracer: “Damm out of blinks”
Reapeat until victory screen.

Also, don’t blame the DPS for not hitting a hero that is all about not getting hit.

Only a terrible Tracer runs out of blinks, that’s why they learn how to play her.

I’m just glad brigitte was introduced for people like me who’s reaction time and aim just ain’t as good as it used to be, when I was younger.

I’m sure you have a new and original idea, believe it or not at this point making a new thread wont do anything. If she is indeed op she will get nerfed or you know they add some hero that makes it much less effective. (like brig)

Today I played a game in numbani and we couldn’t have one decent push because a Tracer kep destroying or at least distracting half of our team. People who say she is not OP are just biased or don’t understand the power of mobility + High Damage + with small hitbox

Source? Please tell me how much damage Tracer deals in 2 seconds compared to other DPS.

I feel that, whilst strong, it is her lack of real 'hard counters that allows her to run riot.

Really McCree should be wreaking her day and, whilst he does this to a degree, more needs to be done to tip that balance in his favour somewhat.

Further improvements to flashbang (increased duration) or having two charges to reduce the ease that Tracer can easily bait it out would help considerably.

If she’s all about not getting hit, then maybe she shouldn’t do such tremendous damage…

They’re playing against the lovechild of Saebyeolbe and Profit, with some Dafran nanomachines added in for flavor.

Yeah, that is basically it, she does too much damage for such a mobile hero, it’s just too much.
