Why the Match Maker is hidden?

I couldn’t disagree with this more. In a game where people are matched randomly, and where one person can completely tank a team’s chance of winning, the best way to keep people motivated is to reward them for high effort and high performance, and to punish underperformers so that they quickly sink to whatever level they’re supposed to be at, doing as little harm to everyone else as possible on their way down. If you one trick widow, contribute almost nothing, and treat ranked matches as an aim trainer, you should be spanked when it comes to losing points, you shouldn’t lose a few more points than the person with 18k damage.

Think about what you’re advocating, and why you don’t see it in the real world. Would you dock the pay of your best employee because a member of his team overslept and ruined the team’s presentation? Of course not. You’d fire the deadbeat and continue to pay that employee well or get them even better teammates to work with. Yet you’re advocating for a system that real world people would hate, and would drive hard working people to run for the exits. And that’s exactly what’s happening in OW now for the very same reasons.
