I’m pretty sure they’ve said that the MMR homes in on your current skill in just a few games. On the win streak, you were likely on fire getting tons of stats, so the matchmaker decided you must have had a massive skill jump. Then the next day you might have played only average and got trashed by the much better opponents it matched you with.
