Why remove Hero Mastery courses?

From what they said in a recent Dev update, the Hero Mastery courses wasnt very popular with the Community:

Greetings Heroes, We recently mentioned in a Director’s Take that we’ve been taking time to improve the game modes you all jump into and enjoy every day. As we focus more time and effort into delivering the best experience for Quick Play, Competitive, Stadium, and other new ways to play, we’re going to be shifting focus away from past game modes that haven’t seen as much attention. I for one tried it once or twice then got bored real quick. It just wasnt for me.
