Blizzard only takes “disciplinary action” on an account that get reported, it’s not actively monitoring all chat.
Yeah, but if OP wants insta - bans based on used word in chat, “Monkey” is most of the time used with Winston. I can see the insta ban work with n - word tho…

Have had a mercy and moira duo call me slurs in team chat to just not get banned very good report system totally not an automated report count they 100% have real people reviewing reports

I’m a big believer in free speech and not letting trolls get to you. I think the one poster is right about not letting negative people have power of you. It’s not fair to yourself if you let some jerk bring you down.
With that being said, this is a team game and it’s rated T.
If a person shows up to park to play some 5 v 5 basketball and they start raging at their teammates in the most mean way possible, then they should assume no one is going to want to play with them, and that person is going to get kicked off the court if necessary.
Play an organized sport and try to act like a maniac. The coach will bench you so quick you’ll head will spin.
So yes, typing slurs into the chat should get dummies in trouble, especially people that already proved themselves as toxic.
Banning racist has nothing to do with “free speech”.
Concept of free speech is not “you can say whatever you want and no one can hold you accountable. and everyone has to give you their platform to spread your ideas”. Concept of free speech is “you can’t get arrested for your views. But people still can ostracize you for them, and uninvite you from their platforms!”

I mentioned toxic people shouldn’t be allowed to ruin a team function and that the team has the right to kick them out. If no one wants to play with a toxic person, than that’s the toxic person’s problem.
Freedom of Speech is absolutely essential for society to function.
The civil rights movement, gay rights and labor rights all exist today because brave people spoke on their behalf when it wasn’t popular.
If you’re only for popular speech than you’re against progress, because every gain we made in terms of rights and freedoms were because old paradigms were challenged…and they used freedom of Speech to challenge the old paradigms.
Unless you want to wind the clock back to where there was no freedom of Speech and all the progress made is undone.

Yes, but you are confused what that concept is!
If you say something that is not welcome on a platform you are getting removed! There is no violation of free speech. Free speech only ensures that government won’t censor you. But if some one has a platform they are not oblige to let you use it to spread your ideas because of free speech!
Sure… Now what is valuable in racism to let them thrive in here? Because that is what is discussed here! That racism do not belong on this platform!
Again, freedom of speech is irrelevant to this discussion!
Different people get offended over different things. Why should your feelings be more important than anyone elses? If you can’t handle words then turn off chat. Problem solved.

Toleration goes both ways.
It should be optional not mandatory for chat filtering.
Hell we are at the point where saying good game angers people and got blizzard to censor it.
