Why players are so arrogant?

No thats about the exact same for me, you have just already decided things for me. Except when people get all rage baby, I have already seen my mistake and am thinking about it.

Like the constant use of passive aggressive manipulation, which in all peer reviewed studies, shows is just as damaging to people as the openly toxic methods. (if your curious, just google “passive aggressive manipulation vs negative reinforcement”, the articles go pretty far in depth and even outline the behaviors they looked into)

“like a normal well adjusted blah blah blah”, “much more healthy blah blah blah” so don’t tear your own arm off jerking your gerkin.

I work with 1 other person on night shift and we both are competent. It’s a really nice change.

If it’s the ff14 group, see for yourself https://imgur.com/a/C6ePs2w

I agree with this, not sure how it went from me saying, i learn from these things, in a thread about arrogance, to this extreme tho.

But again passive aggressive manipulation, gotta move the convo to your point and have it in the context you want to have a point.

To be fair, some players in gold are actually really good. People think gold is as bad as it used to be years ago. But the game hasn’t gotten many new players recently meaning that everyone is improving at the game with no new players to fill out the lower ranks. Therefore if you’re improving at the same rate as all the other gold players, then your rank won’t move much even though you’re improving.

We need ACTUAL new players to fill out the lower ranks.

Yup, that would be a lot of what to do w/it.
We were raised to be respectful and good sportsmanship, etc…

Now a days w/Tiktok, twitters, karens, etc - everyone thinks it is ok.

Higher ranks play a different game almost. They for the most part can bring out the full potential of their hero plus the full potential or team work. Now in gold through diamond you might be able to play well and far better then your peers in and above your rank but being in masters ( and being there consistently)is a whole other ball game at least IMO

I get that in Deathmatch when I get killed as Doomfist by a Widowmaker, McCree or Pharah. Then I stop having fun and actually tryhard with instant kill combos and super high precision shots, get 1st place, win and then their bragging about being diamond and above in role queue or open queue and calling others noobs ceases as I they see how many times I eliminated them, check my profile and see that I am platinum/gold average in competitive but with tons of time in deathmatch to get me top 500 in it.

As soon as the silence starts I smile because I know I got into their heads.

I have no idea. Really bad take as from personal experice GM players throw more games then any other rank.

Yeah, it’s not just GMs that are arrogant. Being so high ranked, being able to see the concrete evidence that you’re good at the game can make you more arrogant. They also just have bragging rights because they’re so high up, which can bring it out more, and make their arrogance more apparent. (This is a partial analysis by someone who has no psychology education, nor has been above Diamond and generally doesn’t play much comp or take this game seriously).

I wonder how u gonna kill Pharah as Doomfist. Good Pharah should not allow that.

Here’s an example of my top 500 deathmatch Doomfist against Pharahs:

Doesn’t always get the kill but most times gets them to low HP like before the last shot.

So pharah was unaware of ypu

Well said. Played with a group of friends from 2018 to the end of 2021 and never left diamond. Playing solo now though and it’s an absolute beast of a struggle to stay in plat. Literally almost 1000pts lower just because I don’t have the benefit of actual teamwork. Pretty wild to see such a drastic change but at the same time it speaks to how teamwork is essential to the game in general.

I said its an example. Did this literally yesterday when bounty hunter showed up on the LNY separate playlist. I do things like this regularly. Which is also why I added this at the end.

Okay, but why you consider yourself to be t500? Deathmatch has no ranking system and afaik even hidden rank does not progress.

Because gold players are objectively not the best at the game

So what u imply by that?

You can see this in all games, the key is the player is aspiring for something higher, and they can see all the flaws in lower ranks probably were they had been.

Even in GM someone like samito is generally considered trash by higher SR GMs and pros.

So you get the idea.

Like all it takes to get to GM is being really good at one thing, positioning or aim or gamesense and picking a role and hero to capitalise that.

While it sounds simple its not easy though.

This is prelevant in all real life sports and skills too, while to a layman something might look cool and skilled, to people in the craft that may look basic.

Most arcade modes have a competitive mode. Just like CTF.

Here:

Arcade modes with a competitive once a year approximately:
Deathmatch, 3v3 elimination, 6v6 elimination, CTF, Team Deathmatch, Lucioball and No Limits

I never seen option to play competitive deathmatch.

Its usually available in the anniversary event. Every other event gets a different competitive arcade mode. Just like LNY gets competitive CTF. Winter Wonderland had competitive No Limits last time.

I wish it was permanent, i would’ve never player team ranked again.
