Why play zarya over ram

Rammatra and Zarya are literally nothing alike in terms of playstyle and strengths.

Dumb question. They’re entirely different heroes and good in entirely different situations. If there’s an orisa go zarya, if your attacking a high ground point on offense go ram, etc. they’re both situationally good

They’re both rush tanks. How are they not alike in terms of playstyle???

Why would you go ram on a high ground map.

What are you on about?

Zarya has a bubble which can protect herself and teammates with and they’re making her beam weapon and particle weapon stronger.

Ramattra has a meat shield mode and a piercing projectile.

Zaryas ult makes everyone sucked into a place. Rams ult makes everyone run away.

They are like the exact opposites.

Bruh what are you on about, just cuz their kits sound different on paper doesn’t mean fundamentally they work the same i.e they’re both rush tanks and ram is straight up a better rush tank.

It doesn’t matter if ram ult makes people run away and zar ult sucks people in, the point is that ram ult is stronger than zar ult

What even is ur point, thats such a weird argument :skull:

That’s like if they added some tank with 5000hp, 3000dps, with speed boost and some weird abilities idk what. By ur logic you would just say "ah nah they’re completely different heroes, can’t compare them! Like it doesn’t matter :skull: one is just stronger than the other and there’s no point playing the other.

Rams bullet sponge ability is about targeting him and him only and you don’t enable him with it, just spare time for his teammates

Zaryas bubbles are about ignoring the targets completely and penalise you if you damage them

Both of them have their use, none of them are worse than the other. One of them is great in Role Q, the other in Open Q

You completely missed my point :sob: mannnn I swear NO ONE reads any arguments on these forums. Got this from another thread too where a point I made went over everyones head. Rip.

Just edited it above.

But to add to this, people never see how much a characters vialility can change in Open Q and using Role Q only as a statistic is not a great thing to do.

Well I appreciate the edit, but unfortunately the devs balance around role q and like no oneee plays open q
(I’m not gonna lie I kinda wish more played open q but oh well)

Tbh I want 6v6 back :frowning:

Me too. Tanks are so miserable to play now and the new game modes are too large for 10 players.

I’ve just begun to play Open Q with a duo after a long time and i was surprised how easily i climbed compared to Role Q too. Maybe i need to switch to there completely.

Zarya can deal damage while mitigating it, Ram can’t deal damage and block at the same time. This is ideal against burst damage enemies that you want to kill quickly and mitigate their damage output at the same time.

If you get low and have to block against burst damage you are entirely at the mercy of your team to keep you alive/kill the threat.

You can only cycle shield and Nem if the enemy team hasn’t figured out that burst damage ruins the cycle.

His ult is the most braindead and frustrating thing in the game a lot of the time. Especially in overtime.

We have GRACIE and CARNAGE. What do you have, a bunny rabbit?

(This is a joke(

Main reason is because I can protect this one feeding dps which is almost impossible with ram.

Her damage is also more consistent on medium range against heroes like Genji, Mercy, Lucio

Zarya is amazing, ngl. I like her playstyle and ability to bubble an ulting Reaper or a low support friend. Also, pink hair. Hot af. Cool skins. I prefer her ult.
I’ll play Ram if I have to, but I struggle with his nerf gun staff and he’s just kind of boring a lot of times.

Only skimmed the thread. Surprised no one mentioned bubble cleanse.

Most of the tanks require teammates to position in order to utilize their shields. She can actually help people who are out of position and/or hard focused. Also beam tank, etc.

This rabbit fights back!

Ana.

Dva player by any chance? Also Zarya is not the answer to poke lol. Ram is significantly easier in GM+ than Zarya because zarya is considerably weaker atm.

Also picking Zarya is a power move.

I am going to say because Ram doesn’t feel impactful. Even when punching people, he doesn’t feel strong.

Zarya at full beam feels like you can shred people and have high impact.

They have tried to make Ram feel like he has power, but his punches don’t do that much damage, so it feels like you are punching with cotton wool hands.

His wand (I call the aero bubble wand) again just does chip damage and doesn’t have feeling of impact.

Even Sig, his shorts feel good, and his rock is good to land. Ram has a vortex that does something, nobody really knows what (it isn’t good against air targets like it’s supposed to be).

Ah that’s why I play Zarya instead of Ram
