Just because I’m a doom main or WAS doesn’t mean I’m being biased towards my hero. I do understand that doom is annoying to play against and is extremely strong in some situations. But I couldn’t care less about this game after 2/2/2 dropped to live. I just like to read the forums
This nerf not only makes no sense but just proves to me how bad the balance team is at doing their job. Doom is a high-risk high reward hero, who isn’t as simple as characters like Mcree or soldier 76 to pick up and play. He’s a frontline damage dealer that is usually played as a flanker and can only deal burst damage every few seconds. He’s not good at putting out constant damage, he’s good at getting in and getting out. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
If you nerf a Damage dealer’s damage then make sure they can still do their job. The guy’s name is DOOMFIST and he’s going to be the worst hero in the game AGAIN. Doom does not have damage as a secondary option or any secondary option. If you nerf Lucio, Zen, or Brig they still have something else going for them. Nerf Brig’s damage and she can still put out decent armor/healing for her team. Nerf Zen’s damage and you can increase his healing and the same goes for Lucio’s speed boost which shouldn’t have been nerfed. But Doomfist doesn’t heal or have decent tanking nor does he have a cleanse ability.
Why is this character nerfed for doing their job but Hanzo’s arrow speed or leap hasn’t been nerfed? The guy has literal wall-hacks on cd and is a hitscan hero at mid-range. Baptise has an ability that makes his team IMMORTAL and can be hidden behind walls, shields, and in small spaces which makes it UNTARGETABLE.
eff that why is that even in the game? (At least kindred from league of legends has it as her ultimate ability and it works on both teams) AOE immortality in a PVP game is just horrible by design. On top of the fact that Bap has high healing, low ult charge, and decent damage they can all be increased by his ultimate. “JUST SHOOT THE LAMP” doesn’t work because now, I have to stop shooting the guy I got to 40 health and focus on this 200 health deployable while he’s shooting at me and has a self-heal. But doomfist is a problem…
TLDR - doom can’t do his job and there are even bigger problems with other characters - ppl will also just swap to another hero like Widowmaker and you’ll just complain about her doing her job
anyway let the low ranks who know so much about “unfun” heroes to play against even though that’s the entire roster enlighten me
Why not address the real problems?
Why not fix aspects of kits that are the issue?
Why implement ideas so ridiculous that millions of players never thought of them?
I don’t care but the majority of the people i see complaining about heroes with high damage are plat and below support mains - i rarely see players in higher ranks talking about the same problems low rank players have

He can jump in, get a kill and then get out all in under 2 seconds. How is that high risk? Is it high risk because he is in the middle of the enemy? That isn’t high risk, there is absolute 0 counter play unless your entire team turns and someone manages to land a CC on him, otherwise he just gets away. He also get shields just for doing damage. Come on man, Doomfist was overtuned.
I mean, everyone has the right to talk about the way the game is played at their rank.
For me, DF wasn’t even remotely an issue when I was in silver because no one could play him competently. By the time I pushed to diamond, however, he quickly became a terror.
And that’s with a full team of diamonds defending against the DF.
I think he’s easily the best assassin in the game. He’s not a traditional frontline damage dealer. He dives in, secures a key pick (more if he’s not getting any pushback), and then yeets himself back to safety.
He’s incredibly quick and incredibly mobile. His abilities all combine CC and mobility, which gives him an insane amount of strength and freedom.
What’s the risk? He basically doesn’t have any cooldown; if you manage to hit someone you gonna have shields; it’s hit kill with the rocket punch or just a simple combo; he can manage to escape pretty easy in case he’s in trouble; so what’s the risk? He only have high rewards
It wasnt really a nerf, from 0.2 to 0.5 in mid air during a uppercut. Its just easier for the snipers to get a pick but not for others really, 0.5 in air allows your cooldowns to get off faster while being safe in the air for couple extra 0.3 seconds while looking for a good spot to land with a slam or escape to places where some heroes cant get on without stairs with a rocket punch. Also gives ana clear shots to heal and mercy alternative guardian angels to get near you without enemies blocking you so what are you complaining about? Doom is average picked hero among plat to gm, he can’t cleanse a purple but can still get some shields and is one of the dps that only has 250 hp.
DF is fun because he’s so insanely mobile and because he can make such an impact.
I agree that if he’s overnerfed and rendered useless that would be a bad thing, but .3 seconds of recovery time doesn’t seem like a death sentence IMO.
Your just going to have to change your combo up, doesn’t mean he is dead or a garbage pick. Use your head man. Your crying over spilled milk without anyone even playing him in any sort of competitive manner, just PTR which no one honestly takes seriously.
As soon as this hits live try not to laugh when someone uppercuts you and he’s just sitting there staring at you. Literally any cc (on top of his large hitbox) disables the guy. Now, imagine him being in the middle of the enemy team and against players who actually know how to heal their teammates when they’re damaged.
Slam>Shoot>Shoot>Uppercut will still kill an enemy and you still have RP to get out, RP will still OHK any squishy at full charge, all the while during this time you are still getting shields as you hit enemies. You will still have you Ultimate which is a get out of trouble at anytime card. He is not going to be as bad as people make it out to be.

Where most characters are centered around killing things at a distance and not Close Combat.
This may come as a surprise, but so long as the Doomfist isn’t absolutely Braindead, they can get in CQC pretty easily, while also gaining shields upon landing their abilities.
