Yeah, it’s just powercreep to make Soldier viable in high sustain metas. Once they bring down the healing I expect nerfing him back to 18 dmg. Althought I would prefer making Helix 8s cooldown again.
Been saying it for years. Soldier is literally broken. At least compared to other DPS. He has consistent and EASY damage which is also insanely high for something of such low skill. He has good mobility, self sustain, burst damage and a decent ult.
Now imagine him being damage boosted. Unless you have 100% headshot accuracy on Sojourn’s right click then there is no point picking her over him.
Knowing Blizzard and this forum you may get your nerf, but you’ll get Pharmercy reining supreme again.
Even now a solo soldier cannot reliably kill a Pharmercy unless the Phara or Mercy are bad; nor keep them in check unless the map is bad for Pharmercy (wide open spaces with no building cover).
One DVa hard-counters Soldier so reliably that unless your own team tank-counters it’s a hard throw to stay on Soldier; or if the DVa is particularly bad.
istg his time to kill feels lower than an Ashe getting nothing but scoped headshots.
Lots of times I’ll walk around a corner and get shredded by him so fast I have to look at the killcam to know what actually happened, and it’s just him using rocket near my feet and shooting center mass for a millisecond.
Or just shooting center mass but the recoil pulls his aim to my head and I die just as fast as if he used rocket.

NEITHER of them should be “at his level”.
Generalist hitscans should be average - good by definition. You make them the best pick and they just end up overshadowing every other DPS in their niche.
Soldier is weak against better burst dps heroes, so just pick cassidy, ashe, hanzo, widowmaker, and he’ll start having trouble.
He can outrun almost all the other heroes and can completely heal himself… he can’t “sustain”… what??
He cannot, although he runs fast and Sprint lasts forever, he’s still slower than some of the faster heroes in the game. Particularly, Lucio, Mercy, Wrecking Ball, D.va and Junker Queen.
He can fully heal himself once every 15 seconds. All other Supports have secondary healing or self-healing on lower cooldowns. And they can also passive heal themselves.
To put it another way, Reaper, Roadhog, Junker Queen can all outheal Soldier with their own abilities and sustain themselves better than Soldier can.
If landing airshots as Junkrat was as eassy as you claim it is, Pharah wouldn’t be considered his prime counter.
Soldiers healing is to slow. Better than nothing like in open queue with no healers but it’s bad to just sit there and wait. He’s the only character that kill Merch accurately which alone is why he’s great. He’s balanced because any tank can kill easily.
it’s different when you’re locked into a mine animation. Way easier to predict. Good pharahs dont fly low
The problem i have with junkrat is his traps
The radius or diameter for his traps are way to big, needs to be cut in half in my opinion
I have been landing next to them intentionally with wrecking Balls piledriver move when too busy fighting enemies in the same vicinity to destroy trap before slam and it makes me so mad when i land 3 or 4 feet away from it and ball does this little glitch slide over to said trap
Its so much bs considering he almost always as another 1 ready to let go as soon as u destroy or get caught in the 1st one

Like at all.
His numbers are nothing impressive and his gameplay is classic "Bland Average CoD guy" style. You basically only complain about him because you faced someone that has amazing tracking, very good positioning, and great awareness to not get Dove or overextend.
Given ALL those conditions, sure, he can be annoying but not “too much” really.
When a player using Soldier is shining, its the player, not the hero. The hero is as low skill floor as it can be and not a high skill ceiling either … I mean he has an aimbot as ultimate and still is really hard to get value of .
What I hate about these two heroes is when someone is a certain threshold with them, they are invincible. Some Junkrats know when to explode into the backline after causing havoc, and know when to perfectly anticipate and combo their mine and explosions when someone just takes one step into a house.
I don’t think Junkrat is OP but man is he annoying and a pest to play against when they’re not feeding.
With Symm, thankfully I don’t see many of them, but some have mastered cycling sentries, teleporting and in just enough time to ult (which will guard their sentries) and make a fool out of everyone when nobody can touch her.
If that were true they would be GM/t500 staples. But they are not. Currently they scale like crap when it comes to the effort/mastery needed to perform.
Junkrat is easy below gold but above? Its a uphill fight.
I’m just speaking from my experience, I didn’t mean to pass it off as gospel. Those two and maybe Pharah always stuck out to me about being chaotic and hard to deal with when they play smart. Even beyond a good tracer. Anyone tried any attempt to get them, usually ends up falling on their face. Seeing a junkrat the other day diving in, causing chaos and exploding themselves to the backline like they practiced for years was a feeling I never got from any other hero they were skilled in using. Something about those heroes kits partially.
soldier is overtuned but so are supports so it’s not super apparent
the problem is cowboy is just average in his niche too
