And you think Mercy’s are just standing there and if they were, maybe you were already dying. She has 50 or 55HPS right now I believe. She isn’t keeping anyone up through a decent DPS.
So it begs the question, how come you all are using the age old excuse that Blizzard and said streamers all came up with and spammed on the forums last time?
What about when Sombra was completely invisible. Does that freaking count as well?
I’m starting to think that anyone complaining about Mass Res is just bad with their situational awareness in this game.
Either kill the mercy first or get ready to if she’s not dead.
I mean outplaying his hero/player specific. Doubly so in a team game where supports/tank also exists with tools to interrupt you.
All of which has been in the game in some way since the start.
Like really if your complain about say a “suzu” stealing your kill, then you really didn’t put that player into the position you thought you did. As you didn’t take that possibility into consideration, and didn’t have plan post that happening.
OWC changed the narrative. Watch people demand that Mass Rez be put back in the game because it fixes almost every issue Mercy has for both playing her and playing against her.
Mass Rez makes pocketing obsolete.
Mass Rez forces Mercy to farm ult charge from riskier tank healing.
Mass Rez gives Mercy a worthwhile ultimate to farm so people dont harass Mercy players for ‘‘cannibalizing’’ ult charge from actually good support ultimates.
Ironic how OWC is undoing the effects of the Seagull witch hunt.
It encouraged the mercy to hide, which is antithetical to how blizzard and most people think the game should be played.
It negated big plays by the opposing team, and that is just a downer.
It doubled the length of fights, dragging them out longer than people really liked. It was more of a dragging your feet than a tense war of attrition thing.
I never understood mass rez hate even in no limits you rez i kill more , also mass rez was the equaliser to let people reset fights fast it was pretty balanced once hero limits were added.
Like it won’t work in ow2 5v5 maybe but for the game it launched with and the game back then it was really ok.
So your not like this answer. But if you want a balance game, then OW isn’t going to be your bup of tea.
Way to many factors, very few core shared systems between characters like apex’s guns. And an every growing roaster that will always create imbalances between team builds and or counter picks, while just as many heroes might synergies with your character.
OW might as well be closer to mugen were people more or less recreate their favorite fighter game characters. With all their moves, mechanics, controls. But with no limitations with who or what you can add into the roaster.
OW is more about giving you control of really cool characters, that can do really cool things other more “balanced” games just wouldn’t give to you like at all.
It’s why the most effective changes are like those that effect the format.
It encouraged nothing of the sort. ‘‘Hide and Rez’’ was nothing but a throw tactic to farm PotG videos or high ranks scoring.
What actually made everyone try it out eventually was the witch hunt itself getting Mass Rez removed, of course everyone wanted to try out this allegedly ‘‘OP strat’’ that was just throwing with publicity.
Actually no, In the scenario you had ult. That last thing you would want is to get killed, so more risky plays engaging around your dps/tanks was discouraged. And a lot of mercy’s especially really good ones would start playing more spaced out from their team, or start pocketing a dps way off to the side or up on the highground. Where she can then fly in and rez.
Which would only be possible if she didn’t get caught in the big team wipe combo that killed the team.
I don’t hate rez, I just think mercy gets away with it too easily, especially in metal ranks. There’s so many blatantly stupid rez’s down there and she dies to few. Most of the time when she does die for it, she still gets the rez off. And if she’s in valk, it’s pretty much impossible to stop the rez. I think it should just have a longer cast time.
It’s not that you can’t get kills at all—it’s just way more frustrating compared to OW1. In OW1, you could play more strategically and actually make a real difference for your team. Even if you died, it didn’t automatically ruin all the effort of your team.
In OW2, If you’ve got a suicide tank or a DPS/healer having a bad day, that’s it—you’ve basically lost the game. As a DPS, you’re forced to aim at ultra-fast characters, and even if you somehow manage to almost kill a tank, here comes the petal, life grip, suzu, immortality field, you name it.
Finally, after all that, your team somehow manages to take down the giga-buffed tank. “YES! NOW WE CAN FINALLY PUSH AFTER DEALING 2K DAMAGE EACH!” Nope. Wild Mercy appears and presses E.
Tons of people are having a blast for a reason (Blizz extended the unlimited because of this!), while OW2 just ends up feeling frustrating.
Personally, I can play Classic for hours and still have a great time, but with OW2, I burn out really fast.
Yep but once you had it, you making those plays can have a considerable negative impact.
Especially in the 2cp days were defense only needs to be team wiped twice to lose the game.
So playing risky while having that ult, that can infact keep your team from loosing the point. Was not a good idea.
Mercy isn’t really killing people, she can’t just remove people infront of her. She was 100% team dependent on other people getting things done. Because of that their was effectivelly little to no payout for really getting in their while having ult, as the risk of dying was worse then potentially keeping your tank up for 2 more seconds.
which is something you can just undo anyway so why bother?
It is to the extent she isn’t serving her primary function when she is doing that. Because she is effectively just pocketing 1 hero or limiting where she can heal at all, till a moment she can ult pops up.
