Used to be top 5 constantly… now its barely hanging on to 25-30?
What happened? Even with the xmas event nobody is watching streams.

Well a lot of big games came out over the past few weeks (Like Super Smash Brothers Ultimate and Red Dead Redemption 2/Online), some games are getting updates soon (Soul Calibur 6 with 2B and Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 with new improvements), Steam sales are running rampant and people want to play those games(whether they be games they want to buy again or haven’t played before), and…I think people are taking a break from Overwatch a bit. You can only keep the high numbers for so long. People want a bit of variety, so Overwatch won’t always be top dog.
But give it time and it’ll be fine.
At least that’s what I feel right now.

RDR2 was a massive flop… if you haven’t seen the reviews. The multiplayer won’t even be good for a year.
Overwatch has been 25-30 for a few months now. I’m just feeling like this won’t be lasting long viewing wise. You gotta admit its a pretty boring game to watch.

League is 9 years old… DOTA 2 the same.

Because it’s the same boring game it was last year. Nothing has changed and nothing will. I have not touched it, for more than half a year now, and whenever i open up the forums i see duplicates of the posts i used to see back when i was playing it. The real problems the game has are not being dealt with.
As long as this happens it will continue to decline in popularity. Sure every now and then with discounts you might get some people to buy the game, but none will stick with it. There are much much better games out there to play that provide people with a positive gameplay experience.
I do not understand why people still continue to support this company.

It doesn’t interest variety streamers anymore and while Contenders is doing better than usual, it isn’t replacing OWL in the off-season

It’s a strange, pathological thing to do.
You say there are plenty of games out there that make you feel positive, yet here you are on this forum complaining six months after you stopped playing.

I tried watching Overwatch, and was bored to tears. I just don’t find the Streamers entertaining or engaging in the slightest, and I checked out both the big and small guys.
Only game I watch on Twitch is Dead by Daylight. I have four that I follow right now, and enjoy it because the pace of the game allows the Streamers to also engage regularly with chat.

Because blizzard insist on constantly harassing their top streamer, thinking he wont take his viewers with him.
Its also the fact that the top level play is boring to watch right now. there are no PogChamp plays in this game anymore.
who would have thought that people would rather see insane tracer movement, genji deflects, sniper shots, and McCree flicks rather than 3 tanks and 3 supports running at each other.
They’ve removed the most exciting part of FPS games from the game, ofcourse its dying on twitch.

Number 11 right now on twitch east coast.
But yeah, it’s the same old since last year.
They got a small team and the new guys working on it now so it’s kinda end of the line type of feeling the game feels like.
Probably working on OW 2 and fewer people playing means less servers to rent…

OW is not free to play.
counterstrike, path of exile, LoL, and DOTA are all much older than OW, and doing way better.
Age has nothing to do with it, Overwatch is boring to watch, because DPS aren’t allowed to be good in the game.
