Why is Lucio considered high skill

Try landing those cheetos consistently while wall riding. I have 250 hours on bap, he ain’t that hard, especially after the recoil buff to help with wrist pain

his bullets are big sure, but his projectile speed is slow, meaning you could aim at someone and miss because they moved, so then you aim ahead of them and shoot and move

so now as a lucio player you have to predict your enemy’s movements which is harder to do when they can change how they move

so aiming isnt “cake”

I got to GM on Bap within days. I still have yet to do it on Lucio. Bap is indeed not very difficult.

Probably because there are so many random places where the wall geometry just disconnects you and you plummet into the Rialto canal.

No but I’d never say

Did you think I was saying he was the highest skill hero because YOU were talking about T20 lobbies. <3

I feel like I lost brain cells reading this.

being a good lucio requiers skill yes
-you have to boop high ground or hidden enemies out of position to make them easier for your teamates to shoot at, risking yourself
-you have to know when to speedboost your teamates to save them
-you have to know how to aim while wallriding with extra slow bullets
-you have to know how to wallride properly, and don’t say it’s easy, otherwise show us
-It takes an eternity to reload so you have to always think when it is the best time to do it
-you get insulted and flamed in a lot of games even if you play good, even if it’s a win
-if you try anything you get compared to frogger and flamed again, even if what you do is normal and requiers getting some distance from the group

Show us how you play lucio, i want to see how easy it is for you

He is to play the best you need to land shots while moving aka wall riding preferably doing so you need to be mindful of where your headed while aiming at your target. Lucio is a hero without a fix ceiling cause you could always play better.

Just a knocking people back isn’t enough to say he is ez… There is a difference between jumping around the map and making efficient plays.

This is Lucio’s biggest problem in OW2. They changed something in the geometry engine that doesn’t allow him to slide along walls like he used to. Even on maps that were ported from OW1.

And I suspect the OP is just trolling.

Congratulations, you might be the first person I’ve ever seen complain about Lucio.

Nah, there’s a few out there. But I suspect a high probability of trolling in this one

Has 2 get out of jail abilities with boop and wall ride.

Did people just hear streamers and YouTubers saying this and now just apply this title to everything in the game that they disagree with?

he has the most complex, difficult and most skill expressive movement in the game, how does that make it a “get out of jail free card”? Where is the free in that?

It wouldn’t be the overwatch forums if people didn’t talk about things they have no clue about

Why are you going and making the Lucio mains mad? There aren’t that many of them.

‘Tosses out a Lucio Ball’

There, that’ll calm them back down.

His movement is very difficult to both perfect and apply effectively both offensively and defensively.

His gun projectiles are the worst in the game, being a moderate speed split into four parts with a decent time inbetween followup shots.

His most important cooldown is long with a short duration. His healing is generally quite low, so he needs to use it wisely.

His ultimate has a delay that increases the higher up in the air he is when using it.

And while no individual thing on the character is hard to do at a base level, you need to be using all of them at the same time to get the most you can from the character. Good weapon use combined with good wallride use while also making sure you’re helping teammates adequately is not easy.

I play plenty of projectile characters and lemme be clear I know, for example, Ashe is a mountain times easier to aim with than torb

But lucios projectiles are so gigantic it’s insane, and it is in fact cake to aim with.

The very nature of all projectiles means “if the enemy moves you can miss”, that’s not aim being hard, it’s movement acceleration (or lack thereof) being a “feature” of the game that negatively impacts ALL projectiles.

Lucio is, for example, drastically easier to shoot with than genji (his primary anyways) and they are otherwise nearly identical in function.

Yet Mercy’s, Zen’s, and Kiri’s are all bigger and faster. Nobody seems to be complaining about those, though.

This is the same thing with Mercy, I thought I was tripping, but glad I am not the only one.

For me,
Lucio, wreckingball and echo are the hardest. Echo being at the highest point due possibilities.

While some are complex due combinations of factors, like doom and symmetra. But those 3 they’re pretty high on potential, although I find them also on forgiving side in other aspects.

I consider Lucio’s damage a bit high. Wreckingball shield also high. Echo a bit oddball due some would play safe while others could be the perfect tool to turn the tide, need a tank? Got it, need a sup? Got it, need different kind of damage pressure? Got it. But it can escape and engage as it want although have overall less mobility than pharah these days.

Lucio is complex on movement, but his damage is forgiving. Doesn’t overshadow his complexity but make it forgiving.

Wreckingball similarly but, instead of damage, the shield.

Echo because requires to excel on all roles and make the decision based on it. Clone an ally? Get more time on ult? Are tough choices and also increases a ton how would be played.

Zen has nothing but his damage and mercy rarely is able to pull her pistol out in decent circumstances (though far more often than she actually does but eh)

Kiriko is wild. She’s ms do it all and I don’t support that.

Lucio can peel, Lucio can dive with his dps, Lucio can at LEAST heal better than zen, Lucio has a fantastic saving ult, and Lucio can help the whole team go agressive with speed boost. He has a lot he can be doing while using those big projectiles, he’s very multi-valued. It used to be hard to get damage value with him while doing all of that, until the post season 9 changes making his projectile huge.

They actually nerfed mercy’s… still huge though. I could be wrong but I think they also nerfed zens slightly. But since he ONLY offer damage and discord (which is also damage), I have no issue with it, though I’d revert the whole season 9 path if I got to choose.
