It was same in Quake, Unreal, Counter-strke
Yeah but isn’t ow not supposed to be some twitch FPS, people say they don’t want bunny hopping but making jumping so floaty anyone with decent aim can hs you seems like a contradiction. Ad and crouch spam is already strong may as well add jumping in as well.
To me it looks and feels like Quake with heroes lol
But without strafe jumps. Strafe jumps are awesome
Or actually its closer to Unreal Tournament, just in faster pace
Well if you’re going to look like an idiot (like bunny hoppers always do) you’re going to suffer for it. Finally, a game that gets it.
I’m always jumping… I’ve found that it makes you a harder target to hit?
I find it depends more on the character
For example
Ana’s jumping and crouching change her position way more than strafing; where as for Lucio his jumps and crouch are very static and his strafing has much more movement to it
Moira, Brig, and Baptiste all have VERY stiff movement; the only one who changes is Moira during her ult giving her more fluid movement. Notice how the harder to kill supports are more stiff.
Mercy is stiff at jumping, but her strafe spam is pretty decent and her GA fully changes how she moves in the air; on top of the way she can change her velocity in the air as well
Zen is the odd one out I find. His jumps and strafes are terrible, and his ult is static; it’s when he attacks that he moves the most. Which I guess fits with his more “dps” role of support
Next time you’re in a game, watch how different Ana looks jumping/ crouching compared to a Moira or Baptiste. You’ll see clear differences in how they move
Which is why I ADORE these little ways they balance the game beyond just numbers and abilities. Different characters move in different ways to offer different styles of play

I have to jump on Brig because bashing in-air gives me that extra 2 inches of distance for a total of 4 inches of distance for my mobility
You must be trolling, right?.. jumping in this game is absolutely overpowered, first of all half the jump animations are broken with no transitions and also you CAN MOVE during the jump, so it’s like you’re acting like the after jump location is predictable when it’s not, so yeah you must be trolling or just an absolute de ge ne ra te
Jumping is a predictable arch. If you want to be more predictable instead of changing how jump works, just play a hero with more unpredictable movement. There are plenty.
