90% is suppose to be the correct percentage.
But also, you have to ask. How many people are being 100% truthful when they were asked those questions? Some could lie, and some may be 100% sure at that time and question or be much different years later. Which is also common in the lgbtq+ community.

Any statistical representation of the LGBT population is almost certainly a lowball because people will lie for their safety even if they’re assured anonymity, and many LGBT people are so repressed by homophobia they do not know they are LGBT or deny it.

AH yes Cuties a movie who’s only crime is that Netflix messed up the marketing, and Ghostbusters 2016, a movie that I grant you Sony used the inane babbling of a few idiots as en excuse to blanket deny all justified criticism of a perfectly mundane movie.
It amazes me how 4 years later people still dredge this up as a example of “go woke go broke” when if nobody had said anything about all female Ghostbusters the movie itself wouldn’t have caused any effect at all. You all that made a fuss about it being woke garbage were the ones that made it an actual big flipping deal. Had you all kept your mouth shut it would have gone and damn well went with nary a wave being made.
You all gave a movie you hated more attention and press than it would have ever had if you hadn’t said a damn thing.
as for killing a franchise, it did the opposite, considering it got attention going for a actual sequel to the OG films.

Like when Valorant came around and the topic of BlizzChung resurfaced, I had to read some of the most hypocritically dumb threads ever.
And as for LGBT+, people usually don’t mind. What they don’t like is forced representations. Those characters are often written for the sake of representations and are obviously not well received.
Yeah they could lie, but we can’t take data from things we don’t have or what ifs.

Because it’s easier to yell on people who are already accepting you and wont murder you ?
Because what your’re doing right now it’s the opposite of making LGBT more accepted : with your way of thinking you’re making yourself less accepted and thus people have a less positive view on LGBT because of that.
Once again, you don’t and cannot force people unless you got military power to keep mouth shut (but even that doesn’t last forever)

Which often ends in poorly writen stuff and people just hate those products because we seek for entertaining and good story telling before anything. Look at what happened to the ghostbuster remake, they made a feminine team just for the sake of feminism with nothing else behind, trash script, poor comedians. People hated that movie because it was a poorly made movie, but twitter feminists (yeah the yelling minority, not the realistic majority) were like “reee patriarchy destroyed our movie”…

“buh buh buh buh you can’t worry about more than one thing at once you must only worry about the countries where LGBT people are being murdered” is a deflection. Amazingly, us humans are capable of focusing on more than one issue at the same time. And cracking open the festering, pus-filled scab of prejudice in the gaming community is something I, as a gamer, take interest in.

Let’s do some math. According to google, 4.5% of U.S. citizens identify as part of the lgbt community. There are currently two heroes who are confirmed to be gay by blizzard officially (Tracer and Soldier 76). 2 heroes / 32 heroes * 100% is 6.25% of heroes. So no, lgbt arent underepresented.

America is not the world. Most Studies say 10-15 % of the world population is lgbt.

Look at Rey in the Star Wars sequels, she’s completely heterosexual but the backlash on her was huge. Same thing for Luke Skywalker in TLJ and TROS, hes one of the most controversial characters in the trilogy and has recieved a lot of backlash.
Reducing people to just sexual beings is pretty narrow minded, there are a lot of variables in the equation between history, cultural environement and social environement.
We all agree that in our modern mostly western societies, discrimination are wrong, but thinking that s*x is the only one identity possible is wrong.
