Yeah that’s why I said it’s not as bad. It’s more like. You have all this things to do with this ult, it sounds great on paper – just like high noon or I guess a better comparison would be blossom because it’s not as bad as high noon, but it’s still down there. But in practice, you use it to escape? That’s the best you can do? Meanwhile Ana out there comboing with soldier and genji and mowing down the enemy team. Lucio and zen are god send life safers who save you from teamwipes and Moira heals up friendly critical health tanks from 50 to 600 in a couple sec while also killing an enemy support or forcing a support ult. Oh and brig? Her ult stays, and it’s armor.
Mercy just uses valk and looks pretty while her team dies around her. Poetic.
You know, I think I am starting to understand why people miss mass res so much.

You welcome
. Not a single player ever asked me to use Valkyrie, but “rez me pls” was very common.

Exactly! And this was brought up a looooong time ago. People wanted SOME way to easily show their team that E rez was not up yet because that is really the only part of Mercy’s kit that people care about. No one cares if Valk is up. Not even me.

What is even Valk ? Is it something new ?

It could be a state of inferiority, where you reminisce of good days long passed.

They said that Mercy was overused and outshadowed the support roster before the nerf to her healing, which is wrong. Mercy was still in a terrible place before the healing nerf due to all the other nerfs that Blizzard implemented before her healing nerf.

I found this
“Valk, a stable open keel boat, particularly suited for learning sailing. … All Weather Sailing sails a Valk, a stable open keel boat, particularly suitable for training purposes. The boat is unsinkable and built of the best materials. Made by and for sailors! The total surface of the sails is 17m2.”
So when Mercy presses Q she sails away into the sky never to be seen or heard of again by her teammates, trust her to stay alive in the harsh skies, but don’t think that you the teammate shall live!

Valkyrie: the mobility move hogging the Q slot.

She was in a pretty good spot before the HPS nerf.

Balance wise, yes.
But we all know that balance =/= fun, or else we wouldn’t be longing for a D-teir ult to come back while loathing that time when Mercy was OPAF, and be overall unimpressed with the current Mercy even when she “was in a good spot” before the hps nerf.
(I just thought it would be prudent to point that out for the non-Mercy players reading this thread)

Yes, I 100% meant balance-wise. I haven’t been fighting the rework since its inception if I thought she would be fun to play.
Oh, I know. But I’ve noticed that a lot of people who don’t play Mercy (and don’t understand why the vast majority of her playerbase has hated the rework since day one) tend to forget that balance and fun are two different qualities that don’t always line up.

This is very true. Thank you for pointing that out.

Nah, I just find your comments confusing…

Lol, you’re not the only one. Youngsters these days don’t know how to express their feelings clearly.
Right from the very start, we already said insta-single rez on cooldown was broken, and I speculated during that first PTR megathread that the possible reason is to make her viable in OWL.
Even with the current nerfs, I’m with AkiraNasuki in the sense that I don’t think the 10 HPS nerf is that bad – what it means is that Mercy has to take better care of the squishies, and tanks need to take a more defensive posture (aka not take damage for 2 or more seconds during peels) for the heals to come.
TLDR – healing at half-health as a rule of thumb is not viable anymore, Mercies need to heal as soon as allies take damage, and follow a strict heal priority when multiple members are taking heat: fellow support first, DPS next, tanks last.
What I do not like with this state of affairs is that it directly contradicts the hero order of priority in terms of importance in a fight – main tank, flex support, and carry dps.
My sense of why Ana and Moira is so good is because they can do better sustain of tanks in the frontline. In this sense, I agree with you.
My main complaint is that Mercy’s E-ability or ult cannot save a main tank deep in the thick of things, which is why either a single target over-heal or a damage debuff is called for in Mercy’s E-ability. If they do implement a damage debuff, I’d prefer it to be an area damage debuff with a long cooldown.
What are your thoughts on Pacify? (The concept itself, not necessarily the version provided in Titanium’s thesis)
Sounds like idea, that both goes against Mercy character as pacifist and doesn’t help much to keep tank alive. Mercy always was about buffing your own team, rather than debuffing enemies.
