Why I Have Yet to Not Despise Mercy's Current State (Part 1)

shall i assume trance was used team 2 as well

How does that work? Competent teams are supposed to role 6v5’s without expending ultimates unless to counter ultimates. Again, if you need to use three ultimates in a 6v5, you don’t deserve to win.

Which could be entirely negated by not blowing all of your ultimates while Mercy is still alive. You could bait out rez just as easily as “team 2” could bait out your ultimates.

well it happened back then whats to stop it from happening now other than widow ult

rez isn’t easy to bait out because instead of pressuring mercy you have to kill her teammates in a crucial team fight

Just stagger the deaths…

i hope that i will be done memorizing the keyboard after this debate

why would mercy choose to rez staggers also a team wants for a fight to be clean waisting time by killing only one of the enemy and waiting for mercy to rez before killing more doesn’t make sense

“I can do this all day”
( Captain America )

If you don’t want Mercy to res more teammates, just stagger your kills… how is this a hard concept for you? If you just want to make life simpler and just role the ressed team again, don’t stagger the kills and just make it quick. Both situations are a win-win.

Yes it is. Kill the tank. Kill the secondary support. You can do that without ultimates, or you could expend one ultimate, take out 2 targets, and bait out the rez. Mercy will rez prime targets such as a tank or secondary support to keep momentum up and prevent a snowball, then you can turn around and blow your ultimates knowing that she doesn’t have it for the next fight.

The point is, if Mercy is actively hiding during a teamfight, and is not participating:

  • She is not healing her team, meaning unless they are running Mercy/Ana - which is especially rare - team 2 is down a main healer and will melt quickly to focus fire. There is no need to expend ultimates on a team who doesn’t have enough healing to sustain them.
  • If you do need to use ultimates to win a 6v5 where the enemy team has no healer, restrict the ultimate usage in the case that Mercy has rez - this way, even if she does pop out of hiding to rez, your team still has the ultimate advantage, and positioning advantage due to the immobility duration of the rez animation.

If Mercy is actively participating in the fight:

  • You used three ultimates, and Mercy escaped all of them and managed to revive her team. That means the Mercy predicted your ult usage and backed out of range, and no one on your team noticed. If you lacked the gamesense to realize that you hadn’t killed Mercy after using three of your ultimates to secure a point and then Mercy rezzed, you got what you deserved.

simple overwatch logic if you commit more ults into the fight you should win the fight team one used their ultimates team 2 still has them

you have clearly not seen the days of old rez if you did you would know that mercys would communicate to their team to "die on the point then they would rez

It does if you’re actually using strategy. It’s called baiting an ultimate, and it goes hand and hand with ultimate economy. You wouldn’t throw grav dragon at a team with a Zen who has Trans up, why would you throw grav dragon at a team who has rez? You would bait out Trans/Rez prior to make sure the combo worked properly and didn’t go to waste.

team 2 dyeing is part of the plan

Are you just purposefully trying to be obtuse?

If you use ultimates in a 5v6 and kill them all, you don’t win the fight yet because Mercy is going to reset the fight. Now the ressed team has a ult advantage because of your team’s incompetence.

I’ve been playing since before season 1 started. Sorry to burst your bubble. “Die on point” was less about “go in there and die so I can reset the fight” and more about, “If you’re going to die, do so on the objective and close enough to each other so that if I need to rez, I will be able to rez the most amount of people”.

ok you can’t always know when they will have ultimates no team is that predictable

Is this a joke? Are you joking?

i’m tired of repeating myself it happened when mercy had rez as an ult so it will happen again
