I think it’s to prevent getting teleported without intending or wanting to, although tbh I think everyone would get used to it pretty quickly and I don’t see a whole lot of people walking around the telly unless they intend on using it.

I personally like the idea of Pacify a lot more but these are interesting, I think the third could become OP very quickly lmao (especially when combo’d with the justice raining from above or Genji’s dragon blade), maybe like a reduced damage boost like a 10-15% instead of 30%? That would make it so you have to consider whether just damage boosting like normal is sufficient or if you might need to heal your ally as well and it’d be worth it to lower the damage output. A long cooldown would be interesting too (I’m thinking around 10 secs maybe?) cause it’d force you to consider whether you wanna use it for a dps that’s doing normal damage or if you need to save it for someone that’ll get ult soon. Maybe it could have a lower healing output as well so that way you have to consider whether you wanna commit to the ability or just heal like normal and again have less damage output? Idk, I can definitely see different ways to make this ability work.
She already has the ability to do a boosted jump and it’s not even an ability (check out Hoshizora’s video on this). I don’t think cleanse would be too applicable since if the enemies don’t have an Ana it’s practically useless and we also don’t want Mercy to oppress Ana’s pickrate again which would definitely happen if Mercy can negate one of Ana’s strongest ability.
Edit: Actually Zarya’s bubbles are pretty much a cleanse as they remove the anti healing effect and stops allies from being frozen
I think people took that quote out of context cause the only time this was “confirmed” was Jeff saying it offhandedly as a joke during the What’s New? panel at Blizzcon when they revealed her.

I agree, and I have at the end of my post that it should probably have a duration to prevent it from being active the whole game.
I like the spirit of your comments, although some of the things you mentioned me not considering, I literally wrote in my post.
I mentioned a 5m radius for tagging, and once a soul is tagged it can be rezzed from any distance as long as the respawn timer isn’t up, so there is no real Area of Effect.

I cannot parse this, can you rephrase? I have no idea how to consider the potential risk to Enemy Players. Mercy will certainly be at risk while flying around, but with a shorter GA cooldown and increased speed, she will probably be just fine. We can even keep the self-heal so she’s harder to kill.

Well, yes, that is kind of the entire idea of this. It’s a high-risk, high-reward transformation ultimate, similar to Dragonblade. I think it should be suitably difficult to do a 5-man rez! It’s difficult to get a 5-man Dragonblade. The skill of the Mercy is what should enable plays like that, and it will probably be very tough to do without a teammate’s help. If your team dies together it would be much easier to get all of the souls. Maybe you can tag multiple souls at once if you are within 5m of all of them.
It’s infinitely more counterable than her old Mass Rez was, in that you can interrupt her from tagging souls, or kill her before her ult ends.
