Why I Have Yet to Not Despise Mercy's Current State (Part 1)

I don’t understand how so many Mercy players like to claim Mercy is only good at pocketing Widow/Ashe yet turn around and say she can’t effectively peel for people like Zen…

Like, they do realize pocketing a Zen is the same thing as pocketing an Ashe or Widow? You peel for them versus dives, enable them with damage boost, etc.

Mercy is literally the ultimate healer for peeling for people, especially since her healing goes through shields and is constant, and yet people are on here claiming she’s an off healer with no ability to keep her team alive. She has the best mobility, arguably, of all supports, which makes her capable of supporting comps that are spread out or make use of highground in ways no other supports can. Her unique healing and damage boost beam functionalities make her the best main healer to enable DPS, as well as to peel for people versus dive comps (healing through shields like Winston bubble and defense matrix 100% of the time is crazy good). This is why she’s so good in Bunker and anti dive especially. And her rez is just added utility on top of all of that.

Yeah, she could use some tweaks to become stronger/more engaging, but too many Mercy players are exxgaerating her weaknessess. “She isn’t a main healer” “She can’t main heal 2-2-2 comps” like give me a break lol, she’s still great in 2-2-2, just not optimal for Rein-Zarya which is fine, she doesn’t need to be optimal all the time. And I can still play her a main healer pretty much every game unless we are running some GOATS variant.

I am starting to lose brain cells, maybe because it’s 1 am or maybe because I am tired of seeing the same stuff every day lol.
