It’s simple really. The current rank system allows you to climb forever as long as you play more. No one is really hitting GM nowadays it’s just hyper inflated due to incompetence at best.
In fact, it’s so bad GM may as well be OW1 gold equivalent and anyone who is good simply has no ranking or place to go now.
