Why genji shuriken so slow?

why genji shuriken so slow?

60 m/s its the 2nd slowest in game on non aoe projectile

lucio was 50 m/s but he a support

even zen has 90 m/s

can we buff the speed atleast 70 or even 80m /s
i dont think it will be OP, just make him less spammy and can actually aim people using M1

Because he’s meant to be in close ranges where the surikens travel speed doesn’t matter

You either get good mid range or good close range, you can’t have both especially as genji who can move between them whenever he wants

It wasn’t slow when it was meta.

The last time the power in Genji’s shuriken contributed to him being remotely close to meta was 2016.

Since then he’s been relegated to a blade bot, then to a blade bot with the sole purpose of forcing out Transcendence and now he’s just useless.

I’d even argue that Lucio does the job of disrupting heroes like Widowmaker far better than a Genji does, at high ranks atleast.

Bc theres no fall off attached to it.

Don’t forget that they are also the smallest projectiles

but even hitting 3 headshots he still can’t kill 200 or more Hp heroes lol. I love how heroes like Pharah get an increase in firerate and damage and we can’t even have a projectile speed buff without the forums raging about it.

It wasn’t meant to be one throw one kill tho!
Otherwise the forums will flood with a thread saying “NinjaSniper OP”.

Genji shurikens are already doing well with no falloff, fires in burst and it goes straight without an arc.

60 m/s isn’t slow at all and his burst fire allows you to track and adjust your trajectory appropriately.

Try something like Junkrat nades or Sym right click if you want slow. The former in particularly is probably the worst right now considering it has neither the speed nor former hitbox it needs to do its job.

Genji shurikens are fine.

Junkrat’s Explodes
Deals 4x more damage
Bounces
Knockbacks
Are much larger

Genji needs to land all 3 with at least 1 headshot to have an impact

Well obviously, but if it isn’t a projectile that strong then buffing the speed wouldn’t make it OP at all.

Same with Zen’s orbs but they go faster, Mei’s icicle but it goes faster (almost double the speed)

Junkrat nade is 3x slower than Genji
Fires in single instead of burst
Can’t headshot
Has a trajectory arc
Ammo pool of 5 compared to Genji who has 7 shots of 24 shurikens.
Doesn’t have alt-fire while Genji does with 3 shurikens at once

Genji doesn’t need to land all 3, just consistently enough and he has 3 times to adjust his shots. Once you get good with him, getting those body shots isn’t that hard and you only benefit more when you headshot.

Which is a benefit.

If Genji fired a single shuriken that did 84 damage anytime he shot he’d be putting out alot more damage over the course of a match.

So I just looked up fastball speed record. It’s 47m/s.

Genji is fine :sunglasses:

Genji burst benefits allows him to compensate and adjust his aim if his first shot misses without much delay compared to a single shot, it’s also helped by the fact that his projectile isn’t exactly slow but pretty decent speed.

Genji shuriken speed is pretty decent and prob the only thing that’s perhaps balanced about him.

Wanna elaborate on this?

Please. It’s one of the slowest projeciles.

They are only faster than support’s projectile and even then not all, faster than Mercy/Lucio but slower than Ana/Zen.

Among dps it’s the slowest except for the ones that do splash damage (rockets, grenades).

If shuriken speed is decent then most projects are too fast.

Its already unfair enough that he has a ranged weapon to begin with.

We don’t need Genji76 alongside Tracer76

People like him as a blade bot, as long as that continues to happen… shrugs
